Slavery, further fueled by cultural differences between the Northern and southern half of the country, and conflicts with Native Americans, being pushed out of the way or killed by westward-moving American settlers. In 1860, After Abraham Lincoln won the election, Southern States began to Leave and form their own country, the Confederate States of America. After they fired shots on The USA's Fort Sumner in 1861, a war broke out. In 1863, president Lincoln banned slavery, In 1865, the CSA would be defeated. Lincoln was shot a week later. reconstruction began, and for a while, all people were, legally, treated equally. however, that was far from the truth. Racist groups would spring up, making lives worse for anyone with dark skin. In 1917, President Thomas W. Wilson (1913-1921) engaged the USA in World war 1, which the USA was on the winning side of. the 1920s would be a time of prosperity for the people of America, until 1929, When the great depression began. President Herbert Hoover (1929-1933) Did almost nothing to help the situation. The population elected the legendary Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933-1945) to fix the economy, and fix it he did! Then, with the second world war already two years old, the Japanese Empire Bombed the United States Navy at pearl harbor in 1941. The united states went to war, and, with help from allies, smashed the Axis powers, Including japan, and won in 1945. but only after President Harry Truman (1945-1953) had to launch two destructive bombs called the Atom bombs. A rivalry soon developed between the USA and the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). by 1950, The USSR had their own Atom Bombs. This time of imminent Atomic doom was called the cold war. Things almost came to an end in 1962, when under president John Kennedy (1961-1963) the Cuban missile crisis happened, almost destroying civilization. But both sides agreed to withdraw their missiles. Throughout the 1960s, civil unrest was at a high. Speakers like Martin Luther King Junior plea for racial justice, a plea that President Kennedy would try his best to answer. Presidents would come and go, And when the USSR collapsed in 1991, Society sighed in relief. But in 2020, tensions in the US sparked again after the multiple disastrous events left the economy of the country devastated. The election of Joseph Biden (2021-2025) over the incumbent Donald Trump (2017-2021) left the nation bitter and divided for decades to come, culminating in a failed attempt to overthrow the Government on January 6th, 2021. The United States would play an active part in the Third world war from 2034-2037, Led By President Holt. From There, President Jacob Frey (2037-2045) would help the recovery of the world. In 2064, after the People's Republic of China Invaded Siberia, world war 4 began. It ended with China's defeat in 2067, 30 years after the third world war had ended. After that, American power would dwindle. It regained independence in 2117, and the government was removed from power by the Terran People´s Republic in 2161, But the United States continued as an underground government, reestablishing itself in its modern form in 2175.

The Great plains get progressively drier as you move west until the Rocky Mountains dominate the landscape. beyond them, the Great Basin and other smaller deserts and mountains ranges can be found until the Pacific coast, where, most notably in the States of Washington and Oregon, things get much wetter again. The country also has many islands and other territories under its administration, such as Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawai´i, and Guam.
