Appointment

The president is currently Elected by popular vote. From 1788-2044 elected through an indirect representative system known as the electoral college.

Responsibilities

approving laws sent forth by the legislation, management of the executive branch, foreign diplomacy, and public addresses.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The President can either resign (this has only happened twice, once in 1974 and once in 2071.) or the Congress can vote to impeach the President. This has only happened a few times, and none have removed the President from Power.

Cultural Significance

The Role of the presidency in American culture is felt much more dramatically than in other countries. The American idolization of the position has sometimes been called the ´Cult of the Presidency´.  There are cups with the faces of every president on them, there are children's books of all the presidents, and there are monuments to them all around the country. Some of the More controversial Presidents, such as Andrew Jackson, Woodrow Wilson, Richard Nixon, Donald Trump, Frederick Heinzmann, and Mark Pihka are less celebrated, Whereas the more universally liked presidents of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, Barack Obama, Cory Booker, Margaret Riel, Avon Kimball and Eriana Blackwolf are much more celebrated. In no other place does the presidency loom larger than in Washington D.C. In the center of the city is a large stone obelisk, the Washington Monument. Directly west of it sits the gigantic Lincoln memorial. On the shores of the Potomac River sits the Jefferson Memorial and the Roosevelt Memorial. In front of the capitol building is a statue of President Grant, and halfway between the capitol and the Washington monument is a statue of Presidents Kimball and Blackwolf holding up an American Flag together.
