Gnomish Delights

The deeper we got into Arborea, the more beautiful it became. From a stunning wafer cress tunnel to impossible trees of amethyst and technicolor fields of perfect flowers to dreamlike jellyfish creatures in the sky, it’s nearly an over saturation of things that are lovely to behold. It made the day’s travel seem swift, and before we knew it we had come upon the gnome hostel, taken there by a gruff, no-nonsense sentry who somehow knew I’m a horizon walker without being told. Everyone we met along the way curiously fixated on the fact that we were “the living” before anything else.

We soon found ourselves before Princess Taressa Slatevenner, the royal leader of this community. (Well, everyone but Duraz, who refused to open himself to love and Lepota’s blessings.) As we entered the chamber to have our audience with the Princess, we had the dubious honor of being ceremonially announced as "Cover Your Assets."

To continue onward into the hostel, the princess asked us to open ourselves to beauty and love which, of course, Duraz would not do. The rest of us agreed, and as we entered the next chamber through a portal-like veil, we all had titles announced, and some were… surprising.

  • Seksgar, Son of Auril;

  • Blackthorne, Adopted Son of Pech;

  • Roscoe, Chosen of Billiam

    • Roscoe and Blackthorne didn’t have much to say about this, and I’ll need to pry information from them when appropriate. Blackthorne is more alarming, in all honesty. I wish Duraz had come in with us, because it seems that none of us is simply just oneself.

    After welcoming us, we… attended a party. But a rager of a party. It seems in the afterlife in Lepota’s domain, anything’s fair game, and hitting on anyone is as natural as asking how the day has been. (As a side bar, I distinctly remember hearing Roscoe screaming from a distance that he has a girlfriend, so I can only imagine what happened in the minutes before.) I spent much of my time debating the topics a group was orating about, and though I was a little buzzed, I do remember drawing some kind of chart to make my own point.

    We are resting here tonight in the gnomes’ lavish home. I can only begin to imagine what tomorrow will hold.
