Dear father,
It's been a few weeks since I last spoke to you and might I say, I'm happy to finally have some peace. After the last events, we decided to hide ourselves in the mountains. Long walks during the day and cold sleepless nights. That's all we did for about a week.
A fleeting feeling of happiness passed us by when we celebrated Damaschini's and Miyun's birthday. A few gifts and a bit of snow it was what we could give them. It was not much, but it felt like home. For in that single joyful night, we peacefully fell asleep while Xebec, in his drunkenness, was murmuring his old shanties.
However, it seems of late, that the luck does not cross our path. As sun was raising , the danger was coming close. We soon realized that more than a handful of soldiers were approaching, trying to block our way. For a few days, we prepared to stand our ground but soon the inevitable happened.
The fight ended fast and even though we won, I never felt so empty before. Tell me father, when you are the one that is still standing, how do you deal with it? With the guilt you feel when, to save your skin, you sent others to the grave?
I'm sorry I do not mean to worry you but I find myself in a time of doubt. During this adventure, we met quite a rather pleasant companion. Not only we grew to like, but we put our trust in this person. To save us, she revealed her real powers , those of a necromancer. Although she saved us, the ending was dreadful. Driven by her powers, she hit Miyun, breaking the trust of all. And even if the purpose was noble, the means were quite the opposite. Miyun is doing fine, but she seems to have lost a bit of hope.
Damaschini wants to take her away from all of us. He needs time to think and so do I. But we have a mission, to save yet another person, doomed by the powers of darkness. If only you were here to tell me what should I do...
I will bring better news to you soon. "Till we meet again.
Your Lovely daughter,
Lyaria
