4. The life away from home...

Dear father,
As days go by, we continue to work on our quest. It's been almost a month now. We made some progress but it is still slow. It seems this adventure will take longer than expected.

It is hard to live the life of an adventurer. There is always a danger ahead and you never know what to expect. Two very strong hunters tried to attack us. We meet them in the woods near Tibol Port, they were searching for some expensive"wood" .A pleasant company, but nothing more. I was proven again, that every time I try trusting someone new, they end up reminding me why I shouldn't trust anyone at all. And yet I do . For I still believe there is good in this world.
 
A new friend has joined the party. He is following his own interests but at least he was honest about it. Somehow, I don't think he is a bad person. I didn't want to trust him in the beginning but he warned us about the the danger we are in. I may be wrong about him but i've decided to take a risk. How else can I make new friends?
 
We were trying to find more information about the quest, so we visited a fortuneteller. I don't even know why I bothered to listen. I am convinced now that no living creature can tell me what my future holds. How dare they even take me money for it. I may not understand the big philosophies of the world but one thing is certain: If you try hard enough, even destiny can be changed.
 
The more we visit this foul place the more I miss my home. I sometimes wonder if it's not time for me to come back and protect the elves with you. The happiness of the time spent together is hard to find somewhere else. But I must achieve my purpose. I must protect the ones in need, just as I promised.
 
Hehe, I probably have worried you enough, already. Let me give you some good news as well. Miyun is doing better. She was very happy lately, and I think that ,if I work with Nerissa, we might actually teach her something. It is so fun to have them around. You never get bored. Damaschini is getting stronger than ever and Mazog has learned to talk so much better. Even Talion is making some progress with his readings. We haven't heard from Zarcus in a while, but knowing him, there is no doubt he is having fun. Our journey is never easy, but together I think we can do anything. Who knows, maybe someday, we will even save the world.
 
The best news is, we finally got invited to a real party. A very exquisite one. Talion is the guest of honor this time. I will let you know how it goes. Promise I won't drink anything.
 
I pray our journey take us home soon. Till we meet again.
