Dear father,
As promised, I am bringing you great news. We headed back to the Monument of Life and rested for a while. Slowly, everything started to go back to normal. After long considerations, I decided we all make mistakes sometimes, and that our companion is still the person who we admire and trust.
I understand how this might feel for Damaschini. I believe you would understand, too. Nobody wants to see their child struck by these evil powers. And yet, he tries to understand. Those, like him, who can forgive ,shall never fall in darkness beneath. For there is no greater power than spreading light over the shadow that tried to cover it. Slowly, yet clearly, I began to understand what it means to fight your own fate. I see Damaschini do it everyday and that, father, gives me hope. Hope that one day, when we all fight together, us ,the elves, will repay for our sins and regain what was long forgotten. Until then, I am ready to follow our captain through fire and sword, and protect what the others couldn't.
Also father, I visited the Monument of Life again. No water is clearer than this one, no sky bluer and no sunset prettier. And yet it brutally makes me feel that there is something missing inside me. Tell me, father, do you also sometimes feel that ,although the Vaneolin's lands are as green as ever, the voice of nature has gone silent? If you do, then I know that you will do what is necessary to bring it back, right? Please take care of everyone at home for me.
And now it comes the best part! We finally made peace with our enemy. After a few discussions, we concluded that it would be better for both parts if we worked together. We even let him come with us in an expedition in a hidden place with us. He kept his eyes closed all the time but I think he enjoyed it. Maybe he was just scared.
I miss you, father, and I hope that I can visit soon. 'Till we meet again.
Your lovley daughter,
Lyaria
