3rd Seojungsday of Autumn's Edge, Second Age 1853: After a week of managing kingdom's affairs for our absence, we set our sights on the coastal ruins we had previously sighted on the island just off the coast, a little too close to our young city to leave them as an unknown. Nythara, invited by Lady Aria, joined our expedition, offering valuable insights into blood magic. As we discussed the academic nuance of using blood magic for rituals, I took notes under the guise that they were for Aranesi, but she was fully engaged, absorbing every detail.
We arrived at the ruins on the 3rd Brahmarusday. The dwarf slaves were immediately set to excavate the site while we explored the visible parts and the surrounding area. Nythara discovered some faint markings, which Talindra suggested might be linked to Araneth, a deity long absent from our world. It's peculiar to find such relics on the surface; the Sundering must have unearthed them.
In the small hours of the 2nd Seojungsday, the camp was jolted awake by Zaelith's screams from a nightmare. He speculated it was due to the influence of the ruins, but Nythara countered this, attributing the disturbance to his new trinket from the ruins back in Hithfaer, which she linked to the lunar cycle pointing out the moon was full that night.
The following day was uneventful, with the dwarves reporting they could complete the passage through the ruins by the next day, implications of a structure linked to Araneth are great and many, and what we find within may be beyond our wildest imaginations, question is, will it be of much help to us. Outside of us, the island has been eerily quiet, though we haven't ventured far beyond the excavation site.
