Energy hijacking
3rd Qindirsday of the High Summer, Second Age 1855: The Sunlit bridge was less moving platforms that I imagined, and more an arcane energy flowing through the arena of pillars rising from a pool of water, solid enough to travel on. With the help of Aranesi's channeling wand, I was able to hijack the arcane lines and ride them around the arena, completely ignoring any and all athletic challenges. This definitely brought some attention as clearly the summer elves have never seen anyone wrest control of their preset route and redirect it at will. Luck was definitely with us as all the summer elf contenders started falling off the platforms one by one through a set of unlucky circumstances. Even the wizard considered to be the favorite to win, lost control of the arcane line and fell, dragging another one down with him. Malakar finished the course first, though he didn't gather all the flags, while Aelorna and I arrived at the end second and third. I may have taken the third place due to combination of time and being less interested in showing off to the crowd, but all that mattered to me was glory of the house Nytraven which was already ensured with only us three remaining in the race.
The Solstice disputation went well, though some of the more complex arcane terminology escaped me in the moment, Aranesi would have done much better but I hope I still honored her memory. The gathered summer elves seemed intrigued in how I was able to redirect the flow of arcane energies on the fly, but I had to remain careful in my explanations so as not to enable them to copy the design. Still, the summer elf audience was impressed by the execution of the craft itself and had several good suggestions towards improving on the design. I should find time to try and apply them before we attempt another vortex channeling. Perhaps I can turn it into something usable in combat, it could aid us even further in our endeavors.
Later Aelorna took the stage to debate the validity of the Summer Speaker's plan. She took the Speaker's position and brought up a few compelling points. When she spoke how elven souls can inhabit an aiuvarin body so any loss of true elves in the world is only going to be temporary, while the population recovers its numbers through mixing with humans. It was a compelling theory and not completely without merit, but if the Summer Speaker wants to preserve the cultural heritage of his people, he will have a much more difficult job ahead of him - ensuring the humans don't replace elven culture with their own once they arrive in sufficient enough numbers.
I didn't have high hopes for the tournament of the golden mark, seeing as archery is integral to the summer elf culture, and yet I performed quite well, taking third place in the overall contest and an underdog archer, clearly blessed by Mirae, scored well past the next best shot for an unexpected victory.
With one day left in the summer holiday, we are gathering to depart for the mausoleum, though the Summer Speaker warned us about elven souls who may still be lingering around there and could be a threat if we don't tread carefully. I wonder if we will find any signs of one of Luthais' brothers there, the one who was cursed to undeath by Leowyn

1st Judicday of Spring's Birth, Second Age 1854: The Isilthar Magic Academy is behind us, its hollow halls stirring memories I can barely grasp—memories that were once ours, Aranesi’s and mine. The first floor was eerily empty: an arena for testing st...
12:23 pm - 08.10.2025On her own now.
As the Soul Stitcher drifted away from them and turned its attention to Malakar, Isenara turned inwards. Here, in this little mindscape they have created for each other, Aranesi was pacing the cozy room with windows representing their eyes to the world. As Isenara materialized in this space allowing them to look each other in their eyes and speak face to face, Aranesi would freeze in place for a brief moment before rushing to her twin sister and pulling her into a tight embrace. “We can be restored” she spoke excitedly “of all the fates we have thought about, of all the outcomes we feared, we can be restored!” Isenara would return the embrace, clinging to her sister “Yes, but at what price. You heard it as well as I. There is only one body, one of us will have to surrender it and pass on while the other one stays.” “It should be you, of course” Aranesi, peeled herself from the embrace and looked deep into her sister's eyes. “You have always been the one to take initiative while I was content to read my books”. Stunned by Aranesi's quick decision, Isenara would stare blankly at her sister while the other one spoke, tears welling up in her eyes “No. How will I live without you? What would be the point?” she muttered. “You've built so much” Aranesi continued, ignoring the quiet protest of her sister. “The Snow Fox is all you, the network will need you to lead it while it grows. Your work is helping make Hithfaer prosperous. You've built a relationship with Zhyrissa, while I, at best, have study buddies. You will be fine dear sister, and when your work here is done we will be reunited again.” Aranesi's fingers would brush Isenara's tears away. “Nothing can tear us apart, this experience-however unique-proved it.” It was at this time when a voice from the outside reached them. "Isenara...you can not simply keep your sister locked away in your mind, it would be selfish to keep her for fear of being without and not letting her live her own life.” Lady Aria Nytraven spoke with confidence aimed at the twins stuck in an internal argument. “You're right my Lady, of course” Isenara would voice out loud, before turning back inwards. “It will be alright” Aranesi would say immediately, able to intimately feel what her sister felt “whether in Winter, or the realm of Death, I will be waiting for you, and make sure the Soul Stitcher brings us back together” Isenara would not, holding back tears as she embraced her sister, her physical head turning to the psychopomp before them and nodding “We're ready”. With those words spoken, the body that the twins had shared for decades slumped to the ground and the Soul Stitcher reached within, pulling out their soul-like a quilt stitched together from not quite enough parts-and with practiced movements pulled them apart at the seams. With one hand, it would take a soul gem and crush it, the shards disappearing into the air as a wisp of smoke, soul energy that was trapped in the gem, wrapped around its arm. The Soul Stitcher guided strands of the energy to the separated parts of the twins’ souls, carefully reassembling what was once broken into two complete-and separate-forms. Following the twins’ request, one of the souls was released. Their forms still quite clear, they reached for each other, holding onto each other’s hands for a brief moment before letting go, one fading into the afterlife, the other floating down back into the body laying on the floor. With a gasp, Isenara opened her eyes, both icy blue now, and looked at Talindra leaning over her. “How are you feeling?” The Oracle’s words would be the first thing Isenara-now completely alone with her thoughts-heard.
