Mercenary Shenanigans

So with our merry band of mercenary friends, we head off to protect our employer's ship yard. we are hot bunking heavily, as we have crammed 16 into a ship designed for 19. We end up in Scientia.
 
Mostly breathable atmosphere when accompanied with an oxygen tank. pressure wont kill you, heat won't kill you, air isnt made of acid. Shipyard for smallcraft, only a population of a couple hundred, mostly working for the guild. The ship manufacturerer is a small firm called the "Nev Nortara Free Shipbuilders Association" who are defectors from the authoriatarian government of Nortara in space south. they are mostly funded by the Guild. they are probably using standard ship designs.
 
We land on the 8th of October and begin work almost immediately
 
Landing is pretty informal process, we are given a landing point by Nev Nortara, and they arrange us some barracks, left behind by the previous group which was 20 strong. we ask Jin to investigate the barracks, to see what we can learn about our previous folks. There was a explosive charge set on the wall, big enough to blow up a wall, but it hasnt gone off yet. It is remotely triggered. Ihero looks at the bomb says "Back the fuck off." , has to stop Castor from fucking with it. He says Uh-oh. He removes it from the wall. and starts walking to the door. He leaves with the bomb and returns about 10 minutes later, looking nervous, but relieved. "Assuming it's not secretly a pocket nuke, we should be good" Hifgh Fives all around.
 
Castor asks himself "Can I teleport it, or just myself?"
 
Vex explains shift rotations to Lucid, who assigns people to the shifts/ Vex said "Good job, Captain"
Lucid says "Me? Captain? That's that one," and points at Peter who is half zombified.
"I am first among equals,"nPeter responds
"Sure, Captain Peter."
 
Shift 1: Vex, Isac, Benat, Dix, Urdush, Alanna
Shift 2: Jan, Peter, Ihero, Mei, Jin, AstridIoion and mei find anomalous results, skeleton crew
Shift 3: Lucid, Talia, Luqia, Castor, Thad, Migo
 
Shift 1 is boring, Shift 2, Ion notices some sonsory things on the sensors. Electronic signatures on the perimeter, Ion will need time to figure out what exactly they are. Mei and Ihero go to check it out, to Ion it appears to be sensing equipment.
 
Peter asks Ihero and Mei to not just shoot the shit out of it, but actually try to figure out what it is.
 
Mei is in the lead and says "Yup, looks like a range finder. authorization to kick?" these boots are made for kicking, and thats just what they'll do! they are clearly prepareing to call in millitary or artillery strikes. Ihero suggests we try to find their base and place the rangefinder on top of their base.
 
Mei sets up patrol and overwatch, so Peter and Jin can come investigate.Jin finds footprints, and yeah there are foot prints. Whoever did this was a millitary trained team, came in 2 groups of 2, setting up overwatch about 50 meters away, and the 2 teams left in 2 different direcrions.
 
Ioion and Peter head to the Harrier to scan for these assholes, Mei is along with her kickin boots to kick the whole base apart.
After about an hour, , Ioion finds the suspicious looking base. Weprobably don't wantnto just drop Mei in alone because they mary also have warcrime launchers.
Ioion and Mei are gonna take about an hour to get a full recon sweep, in the meanwhile, the Harrier is gonna pick up Castor and Thad.
Ioion and mei have anomalous results, they find a skeleton crewthey are using light infantry weapons, the thin thy were hoping to guide a plasma missile wrack into the barracks and utterly annihilate our merc team.
 
They seem to be very interested in fucking up us mercs.
So Mei, Castor, Thad, and Astrid and gonna storm that base. We are able to clear out the camp and smash the missile launcher, take a few prisoners. Astrid has been seriously wounded, and cannot be used for the rest of the adventure. Mei is lightly injured, before Benat is able to lay his magic hands on her. \
Zombie Benat complains about the lack of medical facilities.
why would we want medical facilities when we could have shiny guns?
 
Lucid do some invesigating,
"WHO DO YOU WORK FOR? captain
WHO HIRED YOUR CAPTAIN? no one? we want a bigger nicer ship.
HOW DID YOU LEARN ABOUT THIS SHIP? rheres this guy Frank in accounting who knows someone who knows someone, i mean, loose lips evacuate ships after all.
 
Ihero threatens the guy with a shot gun to find out if they heard anything from the previous mercs. They did indeed. the guy doesn't known't know anything about the actual plan. beyond that.
 
Thankfully 3rd shift goes by relatively uneventfully. Benat spends most of that time in intenstive surgery on Astrid. Menwhile Lucid is getting in his way trying to make stew. Benat gets increasingly frustrated, when Lucid offers him some stew, saying "well, it's for you. Considering you havent eaten in *counts fingers* 12 hours"
