Tidal Retreat
The Tidal Retreat is a large hotel, restaurant, and architectural marvel two miles south of Iroquet, the largest island on Hothiri. It was commissioned by billionaire Vena Concata, in the hopes of maintaining his first successful business after countless failures. It is nestled between large rocks that reveal themselves at night, when the tides retreat.
Sixteen stories of this thirty-floor building are submerged underwater. The lowest third of the Tidal Retreat is a facility for biologists to study local wildlife. They keep a watchful eye on creatures with potential technological applications, such as the hothirian mantis, ten-foot crustaceans that feed on mantisite.
The Tidal Retreat is a blend of shimmering white metal and pristine tinted glass, to protect its guests from the glare of the sun during the day. Said glass also gives off a faint glow at night. It is built from materials harvested on Hothiri, in an eco-friendly manner.
Architectural Marvel
To fight against the currents and tides, this building rocks with the waves. It is suspended in the water using titanium chains tethered to the surrounding rocks, and uses giant blocks to shift its weight and force the building upright.
A-are you sure this is safe? Those waves look pretty big. We will be perfectly safe, I promise. Just... hold on to your plates. What- *CRASH* OH NO MY SOUP IS ALL OVER ME
It took more than five years of meticulous research and prototype designs to create the Tidal Retreat.
The very first iterations were built a fifteenth of the size, with models replicating tidal and weather patterns, and coastal currents as well as any other factor that could affect this massive building.
Famed architecture firm Chrono Sona designed Tidal Retreat. It was the first underwater hotel and restaurant to be constructed on the planet, and one of the first projects designed almost solely for the interest in unique architecture.
Tidal Retreat rocks back and forth with the waves, following the heartbeat of the ocean. The monument can tilt just five degrees in either direction, but this is still enough to cause anything in the building not bolted down to slide out of place.
Three In One
The Tidal Retreat serves as a research laboratory, restaurant, and hotel in one. A large amount of funds raised from the hotel and restaurant are put back into the laboratory, constantly improving technology to study the wildlife of the surrounding waters.
The high-end hotel is suitable only for highest echelons of oanie society on Hothiri. Business owners, billionaires on vacation, and those of the upmost classes can afford these lavish apartment-sized hotel rooms.
Professional chefs prepare high quality meals in the restaurant, for hotel guests. Each night the kitchen prepares a five course meal, utilising local flora and fauna. Popular meals include a thermal vent-cooked lobster, sautéed cloudhopper ribs, and loomkelp soup.
A quiet hum can be heard from the restaurant, when the chatter of guests dies down. The lowest parts of the Tidal Retreat are stuffed with advanced machinery designed to analyse biological components. Scientists dissect animals and plants to study their properties, as the wildlife of Hothiri still remain fairly new and alien to the oanie.

I certainly would book a night there. Probably in one of the rooms that has a nice underwater view
At the end of everything, hold onto anything.
It's such a pretty place! :D
