Sorida Castle

Sorida castle is a large castle located just north of Castara. It is named after the first inhabitant of this building, Sori-Da. It was constructed in the 12th century, and since then has been the house of the rulers of the Aar-Aori, most recently Ery-Ta.

History

In the 12th century, a group of Aar-Aori started migrating south, after their homelands became too dangerous, giant wasps and other megafauna had started increasing in population, and were slowly killing off the Aar-Aori. One woman stepped up from this group of people, and started giving orders, and was made the leader of the group. The group had about 50 people in them, and together they constructed a small village, digging partially underground to hide from the dangerous creatures within the swamp. During the rest of the 12th century, the population was on a slow incline, and the village grew because of it. This castle was constructed a few years after the beginning of the village, on a small gallor just north of it. The castle was built for a few people who stepped up when the group were migrating to escape from the megafauna, and was constructed by the other group members as a sign of appreciation, knowing they wouldn't've survived without them.   In the early 13th century, the castle was attacked by a swarm of giant wasps, that managed to destroy half of the entire 4 story castle. The wasps were eventually killed, and the castle was rebuilt a few months after. The attack then called for the building of the magical dome that would disguise the village, if you looked from outside the dome the village would become completely invisible. Without permitted access, you couldn't physically enter the dome, which meant that no more attacks from giant wasps or other megafauna shouldn't happen again.
