Liminal Walker
Wandering the Silent Halls are liminal walkers. They prowl these spaces between realms, stalking anything getting lost in these liminal spaces.
Liminal walkers wander silently in these hallways. Their gooey, melting flesh leaves a stinking trail wherever they wander, which slowly causes the ground they shuffle on to warp and distort.
The presence of these monsters can be felt throughout the Yonderverse. If you are feeling a sense of anxiety, claustrophobia, or stress for seemingly no reason, these creatures are closing in on you.
Your body begins to split into two - one half is left as a husk, endlessly wandering the world you used to live in, while the other half is brought to the Silent Halls.
Liminal Walkers don't move very fast, simply walking at a fast pace is enough to stay ahead of them. That being said, they know every corridor and every pathway in the Silent Halls, and often work as groups. When they close in, a bony red hand reaches out from underneath the flaps and folds of flesh, dragging you underneath the writhing masses. You have now become your own liminal walker, ready to prey on your next victim.
Existence
I kept hearing this heart beat. Thud. Thud. Thud. Wherever I went, I kept hearing it. It started driving me insane. I kept turning corridors, bursting through doors, climbing through vents, just to try and escape the heart beat that was piercing my brain. Every so often I would run into one of those monsters following me. The heart beat would grow stronger, and louder. It seemed to be following my own heart.
It is unknown what malevolent deity must have created these horrific beings. They are not naturally occurring, but rather a manifestation of evil forces. Unfortunately, so many liminal walkers exist now that wiping them out is impossible. Very few people have managed to explore the Silent Halls and return unscathed.
Those that have returned spoke of faint specks of light guiding them through the eerie hallways. Some reported faint humming sounds in the walls, and something similar to a heartbeat.
Ohh these guys are horrifying, doubly so for the way they catch you D: Too bad they have nice drip XD
