Lefckili Volcano

One of the most peculiar organisms in existence, lefckili volcanoes are precisely what the name suggests. Gaseous secretions from these temperamental living volcanoes can be seen from orbit. Lefckili volcanoes have an interesting life cycle, in which juveniles are nothing but dormant mountains, morphing into violent, angry volcanoes with a penchant for eruptions.

It took the people of Lefckili thousands of years before realising these volcanoes are in fact living creatures. Their movement is incredibly slow, trodding along the gas giant's core at a measly ten miles per year, and while lefckilians were aware these volcanoes were moving, the beating heart inside was nothing more than a myth to them.

Stories of these shuffling mountains rising up and annihilating entire towns with a single stomp of their feet were nothing more than urban legends, or so people wanted to believe. Modern technology advanced enough that they could study these creatures. Their life cycle was examined, which helped determine when and where a juvenile would morph into adulthood and begins erupting.

The study of lefckili volcanoes is now a scientific field in its own right. Understanding this organic geological process takes a phenomenal amount of training, and given the unpredictable and erratic nature of these inanimals, it is a very dangerous job.

Lefckili volcanoes have an innate connection to terramancy and pyromancy, which intrigues sorcerers. A handful of notable pyromancers have attempted to acquire a volcano as their familiar, but these behemoths are simply too ancient and too large to bond with. The oldest volcanoes are many millions of years old, at least a thousand metres tall.

"I remember when those little lizards cooked their first meal"   "YEAH? Well I remember when they sharpened their first STICK!"   Would like more detail about their appearance. Got the 'volcano back' part down, but facial features? Do they have a face, or are their features all over their body? Do they HAVE features? Arms/legs or tentacles, and how many---or is it like a snail foot?
