Larrentell
The Larrentells are elves, and have been nomadic for most of their hisotry, even through the Age of The Hunt. They only decided to settle down when they come upon the Silver Mountains at the peak of summer. The glimmer of the mountains with the sun high above made them settle. Not used to anything but travelling it took them over a decade to esthablish proper homes, all the while they explored the mountains. Over the years other settlers came to appreciate the beauty of the mountains and decided to stay. For all the time they had lived around the Silver Mountains they could see the Silverwing griffons flying around, and many tried to find where they lived. It was another family who discovered how to get to the nests, and soon many tried to climb up to see if a Silverwing could be tamed. None were successful, and most gave up. That is, until Harkon Larrentell, who climbed up Crestfall Summit alone to tame a Silverwing once and for all. He had not been heard from in several weeks, and assumed dead, when he suddenly landed infront of a group of merchants on First Landing atop his now tamed Silverwing. He spent the next 100 years of his life learning all he could about Silverwings and teaching others how to tame them, which became easier over time as already tamed Silverwings would allow others to come close to its eggs meaning they could be raised and tamed from birth.
Under the leadership of Harkon Larrentell the Larrentells grew to become a powerful military force, protecting their friends and bringing a swift end to their enemies. It was also Harkon Larrentell who met with Heleksix Mair and Dargo Rheagon in the location that would later become the White Keep, and formed the first kingdoms under a temporary peace treaty that would allow them each to have time to esthablish their goverments without interference from the others. A peace that is still mostly upheld.
Harkon Larrentell ruled as king of the Kingdom of Invar until his daughter Melissia Larrentell came of suitable age. His last act as king was finishing the building Highpoint to make a proper throne for the kingdom, a project that had been underway for 3 decades. Melissia Larrentell has sat on the High Throne since, and is expected to continue her duties as queen for at least another 200 years. Her father Harkon Larrentell now serves as the kingdom's Master of War at an impressive age of over 800.
The Larrentell family being elves means they are also a smaller family in terms of members. While the other royal families have many cousins and off-shoots of the main family, the Larrentells have only very few family members not directly related to Harkon Larrentell. Because of this, they cannot monopolize the taming of Silverwing and instead, they will allow anyone who has proven their worth to be allowed to raise one, although, this tends to be other elves. However, to be allowed to do this, they must swear an oath that if broken means death not only to them but also their family. An oath that has only been broken once before, and Harkon Larrentell as the Master of War carried out the punishment.
