Kingdom of Invar
Current Political Landscape
The current Sovereign is Queen Melissia Larrentell daughter of Harkon Larrentell and wife of Tati Larrentell, whom she was married to for political reasons, making strong ties with the Harrenheart family. While Tati Larrentell holds the title of King, he holds no real political power.
Many feel Melissia Larrentell is a dissappointing and weak ruler compared to her father. In fact, many consider Harkon Larrentell to be the de facto ruler and Melissia Larrentell to simply be the de jure. However, Harkon Larrentell is fully loyal to his daughter and only provides stern guidance while fulfilling his duties as Master of War. Melissia Larrentell is expected to soon bear an heir to the kingdom before she becomes too old.
Despite the support of her father, there are factions in Invar who work to undermine and possibly overthrow Melissia Larrentell, however as long as Harkon Larrentell is alive this is simply impossible as the kingdom is too united. Nevertheless, if Harkon Larrentell should die, civil war would be on the horizon if power could not be consolidated quickly.
Geographic description
The Kingdom of Invar is the smallest kingdom in terms of land. Sitting above the Kingdom of Valderfell before the Northern Kingdom, Invar's eastern shore is mostly blocked by the Stony Shore and therefore trade in the east and with the Kingdom of Clir is hard but possible. Although, sometimes they have to go through Havenport to trade.
The kingdom is mostly flat, with a few hilly areas, and a central mountain range where Highpoint can be found. There is a fair amount of decent wood, stone and some ores, making the kingdom self reliant for civillian needs. Trade is however needed for expansion of the military.
Many military outposts can be found throughout Invar, almost all of which have a Silverwing tower or stable, so reports quickly can be spread throughout the kingdom.
Military
Invar has a standing army of 14.000 soldiers, spread out to keep the peace. Most of these are simple soldiers, but just over a 1.000 are Silverwing riders, whom make up both most of Invar's cavalry and special forces. They also have an eastern and western fleet. The western fleet is comprised of 40 ship, while the eastern is only 20 ships.
The military is led by the Master of War, which is currently Harkon Larrentell. He holds supreme authority only having to answer to the Queen. While it is also officially the Master of War who leads both navies, each has been appointed a Master of Ships, to serve as a leader.
Noteable companies, units or special forces:

- The Swift Feathers.
- The Highguard.
- The Silver Hoofs.
Heraldry
The flag of Invar is a white mountain with a golden sun behind it, the background being dark blue. These colors are also represented throughout Invar, primarily in the military. Where white armour with gold trims and either dark blue or white capes are the standard for any rank above common soldier. The armys insignia is a ring of gold and silver swords, the higher rank one has determines what may be in the middle of this ring. Common footsoldiers having empty rings, Captains have have 2 golden suns, while their squires have 1. Knights have 3 silver suns, both showing that they outrank captains but also work outside the normal chain of command. Generals have 1 silver wing while the Master of War has 2. The navy uses the same system except the ring of swords is dark blue. More iconography may be present depending on the family someone is from.
The insignia of the crown is 2 silver wings with gold tips and a white mountain behind them, while messengers, servants and others tied directly to the crown has the white mountain. Whitout the ring of swords if they are not soldiers.
Culture
Invars history is that of needing order and and the militaring exerting its force to protect people. This reflects in Invars culture, especially in the clothing. Most clothing found within Invar is very simple and practical, with simple colors and clear lines. Pants are usually just simple leather with pockets sewn into them. In some areas these leather pants are replaced by more rough fiber plants, when leather makers aren't available. Shirts are usually plain white, or colored grey, with long sleeves and using buttons to close them. Despite being simple these pants and shirts are actually quite high quality, as being able to wear the same clothes for weeks on end without trouble is seen as very important. This goes even further with their boots, made from a mix of leather and a flexible treebark from a tree called the Wind Tree. This makes some of the best boots that one can buy, and it is said that if you take proper care of the boots they will never break.
In the same vein as the clothes, Invars food is fairly simple. The most know dish is Boated Potatoes, where a potato is cut in half, emptied and the skin fried in oil before the potato is put back in after being made into a creamy mashed potato. This simple dish is served in every inn in Invar. Another national favorite is bird wings, due to Invars history with Silverwings, it is believed that eating wings grants you strength. One place that Invar does not settle for simple in, is its ale. Invar has more types of ale than the other kingdoms combined, with each inn most likely having its own unique ale brewed by the inn master. Not widely known, but this focus on ale came from an old military campaign where the commanders needed to teach their soldiers the importance of staying hydrated, and the only solution that worked was allowing them ale and plenty of it. When the soldiers came home, they couldn't easily get a hold of ale anymore, so many started brewing their own which led to Invars ale revolution.
Invar celebrates its history each year with its only official holiday, the High Summer Festival. A week long celebration of the day they first settled beneath the Silver Mountains and food and drink are aplenty here. Many towns far away from the mountains hold their own celebration, but those close enough travel to the base of the mountains where massive festival grounds are set up each year, gathering thousands. It is even seen as an important event for nobles to attend, to make connections and hopefully befriend the royal family who personal attend the festival too.
