White Knights

The White Knights served as the principal military organization under Aindranla Athomath during her rule as the Emerald Queen of Alagor. Drawn initially from the Royal Centurions, they were restructured into a new force directly loyal to Aindranla following her swift capture of Athomathia in 24 BFE. Their role extended beyond the battlefield; they functioned as the enforcement arm of her magistrate system, patrolled cities, supervised regional governors, and ensured compliance with royal edicts. Whether posted in city squares or guarding senatorial chambers, their presence became a constant under the Emerald Reign.

Structure

The White Knights operated as a centralized hierarchical military order under direct command of Queen Aindranla. Their structure included:   Lord Marshal of the White Order – Supreme military commander beneath the Queen   High Commanders – Each overseeing operations in one of the Seven Kingdoms   Knight-Captains – Regional enforcers and battlefield officers   Knight-Sergeants – Squad leaders and urban enforcement heads   Knight-Sentinels – Standard enlisted infantry   Knight-Pages – Trainees and logistical aides, often young initiates or conscripted wards

Public Agenda

Enforcing the Queen's law in all Seven Kingdoms   Suppressing rebellion, unrest, and unauthorized militia groups   Supporting the High Magistrates in governance   Providing personal security to Queen Aindranla and her inner circle   Executing public demonstrations of power to deter dissent

Assets

Tens of thousands of professional soldiers outfitted with standardized armor and weapons   Central command barracks in every major capital of Alagor   Access to royal logistics, food storage, supply lines, and quartermaster depots   A sprawling network of riding posts, armories, and courier towers   A dedicated training compound known as the Sentinel Ring, located outside Athomathia

History

Formed in 24 BFE following Aindranla's seizure of Athomathia, the White Knights grew from a restructured Royal Centurion force into a intra-realm military presence. As each kingdom fell, the Knights were deployed as occupying peacekeepers and internal police. They were instrumental in the dismantling of the Praetorian Order and remaining Centurion forces of the Kingdoms.   By 22 BFE, they had solidified control across all major cities and strategic chokepoints. Their presence in courtrooms, tribunals, and Senate halls was as symbolic as it was tactical. As Aindranla’s magistrate system took hold, the White Knights ensured its uninterrupted execution.   They remained a powerful force throughout the Emerald Reign until 18 BFE.

Disbandment

The order was shattered following the fall of Aindranla during the Alagorian Civil War. In the final siege of Athomathia, a majority of the remaining White Knights were either killed in combat, captured, or surrendered. Those who laid down arms were imprisoned or put to trial. The order was declared illegal by the reinstated Senate, and all its armaments and regalia were ordered destroyed. Remnants vanished into exile or assumed new identities.

Demography and Population

At their peak, the White Knights numbered between 145,000 and 160,000 active personnel, drawn from across Alagor. Recruitment was initially limited to Athomathian-born soldiers, but later expanded to include conscripts and volunteers from the Seven Kingdoms. Knights were required to renounce prior allegiances and swear loyalty to the Emerald Throne.

Territories

While the White Knights held no sovereign territory, they maintained enforcement zones in each of the Seven Kingdoms. Garrisons were established in major cities, border posts, and provincial capitals.

Infrastructure

Barracks and garrison complexes in each kingdom   Uniform armories and logistical centers   Blackstone Court – a judicial complex exclusively operated by the Knights for summary sentencing during martial periods   Stables, courier networks, and quartermaster outposts built into state halls and magistrate strongholds
