Centurion Legion

Structure

Centurion Commander-General – Supreme authority, reporting directly to the High Throne   Marshal Circles – Each of the Seven Kingdoms was assigned a Marshal responsible for localized military and enforcement logistics   Standard Divisions – General service forces divided into Field, Patrol, Investigation, and Siege contingents   Auxiliary Archives & Medica – Support networks responsible for records, logistics, and field triage

Culture

Centurions were trained for both urban policing and battlefield combat. Their internal culture emphasized duty over status, and service over fame. While not monastic, many within the upper ranks lived ascetically.   Despite their official neutrality, the Legion was often seen--particularly in rural areas--as a peacekeeping force offering assistance. This reputation largely contributed to the trust and reputation of the modern Azure Vanguard.

History

The Centurion Legion was founded in the early years following the Cardinal Dragons Accord, as High Queen Kendra Athomath unified the Seven Kingdoms under Alagor’s first central authority. Created to uphold the Accord and ensure unity without direct rule over each kingdom’s internal matters, the Legion became the primary instrument of peacekeeping, justice enforcement, and wartime defense.   Across its nearly 6000-year history, the Legion played a critical role in major Alagorian events, including First and Second Suian Wars, The Alagorian Civil War, and the Nightbell Inheritance Crisis. It remained an unbroken institution until the White Knight Formation, and the realm-wide unification of the Sapphire Empire, when a broader reorganization of military and civic forces rendered its structure obsolete.

Disbandment

With the rise of the Sapphire Empire and the formal signing of the Unification Accords, the Centurion Legion was officially disbanded by order of the newly-formed Ministry of Defense. Its command structure and assets were absorbed or transitioned into the emerging Azure Vanguard, which now serves as the Empire's standing military.   Policing reponsibilites were transferred to a newly formed civic body unaffiliated with the former military apparatus. The dissolution of the Legion was largely peaceful, with most active Centurions given the option of retirement, or reassignment, or continued service under new commander structure.
