Misty Marsh

A localized, constant thick mist surrounds and wafts through the entire marsh even in the fiercest winds. This phenomenon is part of ancient protection spells weaved into the land by Belladonna Magwort.

Home to many unique subspecies of plant life and animals, most are simply uniquely colored or have slight mutations, but the major ones of note are as follows:

• Chthonic Constrictors - A huge species of constrictor snakes infused with magical abilities, they are coveted as prize pets or for their unique organs that are used in rare potion-making.
• Mist Lumber - A rare and hard to obtain lumber said to contain magical properties used in magical item creation.
• Arcana Anuran - A 3-eyed version of Giant Frogs that have minor arcane arsenals, their eggs are a culinary delicacy, and various parts of their bodies can be used in magical crafting of all sorts.
• Mistcap Moss - A cross breed of algae and toadstool, this unique hybrid is highly toxic to the touch but only grows along the baseline of trees that are not growing out of the water and causes major paralytic effects when coming into contact with skin for a few seconds, or hallucinations if entered into the bloodstream.

A normal marsh at first, it didn't gain its namesake or curious properties until the swamp witch Belladonna Magwort took up residence there during the First Age. In her younger years, she infused the marsh with protective magics to ward off her enemies and prevent most people from draining the marsh's resources, and over time this magic has seeped its way into every part of the marsh, from the land itself to the life that grows within.
