The Wild Woods
A massive deciduous forest which extends across two regions of the kingdom, which holds many remnants of Wood Elven civilization from ages past. Today, there are only a few small communities who mainly keep to themselves. These little settlements are spread throughout the forest, each keeping watch of the forest and ensuring no greedy outsiders destroy their haven. Some whispers speak of other communities and powerful creatures within, well-hidden from outsiders and protecting the delicate balance of magic flowing throughout the forest.
Geography
A lush and humid region brimming with flora and fauna. Varying shades of yellow, orange, red, and deep green roll across the forest in gradiating waves of color mixed with earthy shades of brown from fallen leaves, branches, and other detritus on lower levels of the forest.
Localized Phenomena
The forest exists in a perpetual state of the Autumnal months due to an ancient racial magic cast into the land itself by some of the original Wood Elves who resided there.
Climate
Runs moderately warm to slightly chilly throughout the day, with an overall middling degree of humidity throughout. After rainfall, however, the humidity increases to rather high percentage levels, making travel or high-energy activities almost unbearable on some days.
Natural Resources
The forest is rich in herbs of many varieties and quite a few types of wild game. The wood is known for being easily enchantable and sturdy, but it is rare when someone is allowed to harvest any, as it is fiercely protected by the "forest itself" according to surviving witness accounts.
History
Originally soley inhabited by a huge population of savage and untrusting Wood Elves, they lethally defended the entire forest from any outside intruders. The events of The Cataclysm reshaped their views of the world after their fiercest and most respected warrior, Hiro "Swarmlord" Xiloscient, joined a group of other racial represenatives to stand against and eventually thwart Tiamat's evil machinations.
Tourism
A popular spot for hunters, trappers, apothecaries, and herbalists due to the abundance of flora and fauna within and around the forest's borders.
