Ver Sayles
"A one horse planet, still taking applications for the horse"
Geography
- Ver Sayles was named by pragmatic settlers. The Flats are flat, the Talons are sharp and rocky, and the Midlands are mid at best when it comes to habitation. Basically, this place isn't winning any contests for "most beautiful real estate."
- Exceptions to the above assessment are the canyon-crossed subarctic badlands of Duquesne's Fate and the temperate Appalachian-like hills and dense forests of the Alleghe Wilds. Bracketing the Midlands, the two most scenic, if least hospitable, regions of Ver Sayles emphasize the "Meh" of the larger, blander, more populous region between.
- Large polar ice caps limit the temperate zones of the planet, contributing to the majority of population centers developing closer to the equatorial regions.
Climate
- Ver Sayles has two seasons, but is overall on the cooler side, its tiny star providing less heat despite closer proximity.
- The dark season/light season are just that, more significantly contrasting in sunlight exposure than weather or temperature. However, the dark season is cooler due to the natural elimination of heat energy as it radiates off into the cold void of night.
- The planet is adequately wet, with few true deserts outside of the large polar icecaps and the windswept badlands of Duquesne's Fate.
Natural Resources
- Rich deposits of metals are the most notable natural resource of Ver Sayles. "You're gonna love our rocks here, man."
- The Flats and the bulk of the Midlands are the "breadbaskets" of the planet, the nutrient-rich soil of their massive sprawling prairies providing excellent farmland
- Lumber/timber is a less prominent resource of the planet, but this is more an issue of quantity than quality, as the Alleghe Wilds are home to some of the densest, strongest wood in the Terran Expanses.
A rocky, Earth-like planet in the frontier regions of the Terran Coalition, Ver Sayles is home to Remy Duciel and his Allegheny Irregulars.
Currently under occupation by the Remnants.
A dive bar named "Raythanya's" located in the tundra north of Duquesne's Fate is a rumored hub of anomalous planar instability.
