The Remnants
When the astral elves known as the "Far Travelers" retreated back toward the Severance at the edges of the Beyond, many of their ranks chose to stay behind, deciding to make a new home in this strange and nonmagical realm rather than creep back toward the depts where the Weave could still sneak through. Over time, they lost their history and knowledge. Without the memory of the past and their ancient oath of stewardship to keep their restlessness in check, these "Remnants" often seek out human worlds for conquest and subjugation.
