Morgan Moreno

Assistant Head of Legion Morgan Moreno

Morgan was the first to join Esirri, Founder of the East-Veilinian Legion. Having spent the most time with him, Morgan was the closest to his largely out-of-reach mind. It came to many's surprise, then, that he wasn't Esirri's choice for the next Head of Legion, and rather, the greenest of the founders. Morgan respected his decision and defended it when others asked him about it, but in truth, it confused him as much as anyone else.

Like Addison Ross, Morgan was present at the previous Heads' death. He feels equally responsible but is constantly irritated by Addison's self-pity.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Muscular but thin frame. His main strength in battle is his agility, which lets him get around to blind spots of the Risen.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Morgan grew up in the south Free City. His family owned a tailoring business that was rapidly increasing in popularity, and they had just opened their second location in Xocrin. He stayed home to continue managing the old establishment, but as his parents were in Xocrin, the Rising began.

Esirri saved Morgan from a Risen attack, pulling him out of the way and fleeing. The two got along moderately well, and as they headed south, Morgan learned a bit more about his mysterious savior, though never enough to get a complete grasp on his character. Feeling indebted, Morgan followed Esirri on his mission. As his party expanded, Morgan couldn't help but feel as though his resourcefulness was overshadowed by that of newcomers. Most were better at fighting than him, except Addison, whose financial contributions and quick learning still made Morgan feel like the weakest link.

To stay valuable to Esirri, Morgan endlessly trained for three years until the Legion's debut attack. With the guidance of the others, he managed to catch up despite his lack of experience. Yet, Addison, who joined only a couple of months before the attack, developed a proficient fighting style by the time they were in Meletnok.

Morgan felt weak, but he never let it get to him. He continued to improve with the pressure of Addison rapidly nearing. When Esirri died, Morgan grieved but felt it wouldn't be appropriate to show it too much. He respected his decision to appoint Addison as the next Head, but Morgan felt Addison's guilt and lack of targeted motivation held him back from prospering as a leader, even as an excellent fighter.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Regardless of his inferiority complex, Morgan is a very talented man who holds an excellent command over a battle. Since Meletnok, he has led many victories in Altonia. As the Assistant Head of Legion, he balances his work out with the Head very well, handling supply work and planning minor battles.

Failures & Embarrassments

Like Addison, Morgan considers the death of Esirri his greatest failure. There was truly nothing either of them could've done after Addison's Coronation started and entirely took him out of the fight, but he thinks about it very frequently thinking about the things that he should've done differently to change the conclusion.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Morgan is heavily fueled by revenge. Everything he's cared about in life has been trampled by the Risen, so he derives pleasure from killing them. His external seriousness sometimes slips away and reveals this, but he overall appears quite level-headed.

Virtues & Personality perks

  • Loyal
  • Hardworking
  • Determined
  • Direct

Vices & Personality flaws

  • Inferiority complex
  • Very self-critical
  • Obsessive about killing the Risen
  • Harsh

Social

Social Aptitude

Morgan's modesty makes him an effective leader when he's put in the spotlight. With that in mind, he largely avoids it, having settled into his position of Assistant Head. He avoids attention because he doesn't want to compete with Addison, who he worries will best him even there. His self-confidence is average, but he tends to avoid talking about himself or his deeds and looks toward what he can do in the future. While polite in most circumstances, his true feelings often conflict with what he expresses.

History

Morgan has never really liked Addison, as he saw him as someone who bought his way in. With a bad first impression, just about anything Addison did lowered Morgan's opinion of him, especially regarding Addison's explosive growth as a fighter. With only a few months of training with the other members, he could hold his own. Morgan felt that Addison never had to work as hard as he did for anything. This was amplified by Addison's coronation and his appointment to Head of Legion.

Since Morgan was appointed as Assistant Head, the two must work together in some cases. Addison has nothing against him and sees him as an invaluable asset to the Legion, but Morgan tries to avoid talking to him most of the time because he doesn't want to blow up on him.
