Vireholm Strand
Built on the northern coast of Karnatel to the east of Haldrim Gate, Vireholm Strand’s utility lies not in its main location, but deep in the south, on the other side of the continent. Vireholm Strand houses one of the most guarded and heavily restricted teleportation circles on the continent, one leading to the south shore of Verdath. It is there that the city's true use comes to be.
Vireholm's outstation, Greengate Camp, on the southern shore of Verdath, is constantly on the defensive. A stream of automatons is fed in regularly to fight back and hold the line against the vines and beasts fighting to claim it. The mutated plants and beasts, after being defeated, are returned for harvest and study by The Forged stationed at Vireholm.
Not just the land, but the waters near Verdath are studied and harvested too. Just south of the Gulf of Verdant lies a deep-sea extraction rig, the Amber Maw. This rig is used as a launch station for submersible vehicles to harvest mutated fauna and flora from the Gulf. It is surrounded by tethers, harpoons, wards, and arcane turrets to protect itself from the more monstrous creatures.
The people of Vireholm are on edge and tired. Those who have been stationed at Verdath outposts and those who haven't alike speak of The Creep, a phrase used to describe the eerie influence Verdath exerts on the citizens. Dreams of rooting tendrils reaching out, irrational phobias and fears presenting themselves, or odd growths appearing on materials and people alike plague the city. Some see themselves as the pioneers of discovery, while others whisper of the Blight eventually taking notice of their operations, and sending The Carrion Hunter to end their operation. Or worse, grasping the seeds planted in their minds to take root and come through the portal...

The shoreline of progress. Where Blight grows quickly, we harvest faster.
