Fleshslough
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Fleshslough is a region inside Oinos, where Yurtrus himself dwells in this realm, surrounded by the silent shades of orcish dead, his faithful who await not reincarnation nor reward, but still communion with their rot-stricken god. These ghostly figures wander without speech or sound, embodying the god’s eternal vow of silence. No fire burns here, no sound carries far, and even the fiends of the yugoloth legions give this place a wide berth.
Geography
The land itself is stillborn. No flora grows within its boundaries; even the resilient gray mosses and thorned scrub that survive elsewhere in Oinos blacken and disintegrate before crossing its threshold. A permanent pall of rancid air hangs over the realm, thick with the scent of rot and hopelessness.
At the edge of a sagging, diseased hillside stand two enormous black iron doors, half-sunken into the corrupted slope. These serve as the only known entrance to Fleshslough. When they part, rarely and without warning, a blast of necrotic stench rolls outward, curling the breath of even daemons. It is said that no one, not even the avatars of rival deities returns from within.
History
Few mortals or immortals claim to have approached the gates of Fleshslough and returned. Those who have tell of the ground itself weeping ichor, of skin-sloughing mists, and of whispers that are not spoken but felt in the marrow. The realm is not overtly hostile—but it is consuming. Time means little here; memory withers; even divine purpose begins to fray in the stale, wordless gloom.
While it remains a minor realm in territorial scope, Fleshslough’s horror lies in its silence—and in the knowledge that nothing within it seeks salvation. Only stagnation, surrender, and still death await those who pass through its doors.
