The Corporeals

The Young Ones

The youngest and shortest living of the inhabitants of the world are the corporeal races, which means something like physical or material. They are also the most industrious, tho, unlike the mystics, they would change the world, build things, and discover technologies.

Creation and Magic

The six corporeal races have four types of magic devided amongst them. This is because they were created in four stages, and in each stage of creation, the magic system was adapted to better suit the new races being created.

The Elves were created first. They are the closest to the mystics that came before, and they live longest, and they are the most magical. Their form of Magic is simply called "Elven Magic." Their magic uses the voice, and they can use their voice to call upon the Edai, as they call them. They have access to all Edai from the moment they become mages, the only limitation being mastery, power, and knowledge. The Elves, when true masters of magic, are able to reach magical transcendence, a state unattainable for most, at which point they would achieve access to special Edai that lesser mages would never be able to touch.

The Baskth and Fellmen were second. They were an inwardly focused people, and therefore, their magic is one of the mind and the body. They, instead of Edai, have Stances, which is why this is called the magic of Stances. The mages are able to focus on these stances, embody them, become them, and if they do so well, they can attain great power from them. These stances are very internally focused, boosting the mage's body and mind, and having less effect on the outside world, depending on the Stance, and the skill and power of the mage.
Their magic was also made into three stages, with the main Stances devided into two stages, and transcendence, functioning simular to that of the elves, as the third stage.
This second stage would be reached when one truly masters a stance.

The Dwarves were third. They were created as poets and craftsmen, and warriors of true grit, which is why, for them, they were granted elemental spirits; a spirit would choose them at the moment that they become magically capable. They get only one spirit, unlike the previous two, who got all their magic. The dwarves had to make do with the one they got, and master it, focus on it, perfect it, until it fully synchronized with their soul. At this point, they would ascend to the second stage, for the dwarven magic too was made up of three stages, and a second spirit would choose them.
Dwarven magic is called simply that, or spirit magic, by those who feel the need.

The Humans and Nalsai were created last. They were the most short-lived and pragmatic of people, and their magic was made to fit into that lifestyle. Their magic is most similar to that of the dwarves, although they lack the spirits that accompany it. Their element is granted to them at birth and unlocked when their mana pools become large enough to make use of it. They ascend when they master their element, and if they prove capable enough, they may eventually transcend, and like in the other magics, this is a most rare and prestigious occurrence.

The Stages of Magic

The magical stages, in one form or another, exist in all four corporeal magics. Elven magic has but one main stage, as well as transcendancy, but all the other magics have three.

Birth
The first stage is that of birth. This refers less to physical birth, but instead, to the magical birth of a mage.

Mastery
The second stage is the mastery stage, and is unlocked when a mage has fully mastered the first stage of magic. It is also called Ascendancy.

Transcendance
The rarest stage for all is the third and final stage. Few ever make it here, and those that do cannot tell you exactly how they managed it, for it does not work the same for all mages.
It always involves a surge in magical power, increasing the limits of the mana pool, and granting a new for of magic to learn. This final ability is called a transcendant element, in the human magic, and seemingly, everyone who makes it this far gets a unique one, suited to them and their personal style of magic.

Corporeal Hybrids

The Corporeal races are all capable of producing fertile offspring with each other, although this isn't common. When a hybrid is born, it will have three-quarters of the traits of its mother and one-quarter of those of its father.

Mystic Hybrids

It is often, though not always, possible for corporeals and mystics to have offspring together. However, these will almost always be infertile and incapable of birthing children of their own. However, in rare cases, they will be able to bear offspring.
Corporeal lineages with mystic blood often have powerful hidden magics passed down through generations.

Descendants

Veskar has three native corporeal races: the humans, elves, and dwarves, but there are also the orcs and their cousins, the goblins. These two are descended from elves, having been changed by mysterious mystical events that even they themselves have long since forgotten about, other than what rumour and legend tell.
The most common theory is that they, at some point, either antagonised or befriended some dark power, an Ynue, which caused them to be changed drastically in appearance, but how some of them then further evolved into goblins is an even less known mystery.

Armir also has three native corporeal races, the Felmen, Nalsai, and Baskth. There are no known descendants that emerged in ways similar to how Orcs and Goblins developed.
