Mana Manipulation
When Yanu created the races of the world, he gave each of them the ability to tap into his strength to aid them. With each new creation, he made a form of magic to best suit them.
There are also magics he didn't create as thoughtfully, gifts of power that are thought to have been passed down to the races of modern times by beings of the ancient world. These magics are now called magical gifts, and are among the rarest ways to interact with the power of Yanu.
Magical Abilities
Beings, both Mystic and Corporeal, may be born with a magical ability. This ability uses mana to power it and is therefore a type of mana manipulation.
One may have access to a magical ability without having access to other forms of magic, and vice versa, they may also have both.

Mystic Magic
Mystics are the most magical of the world's races, and they used to be much more so. This is because they were created when Yanu still ruled the world himself, and before it fell to the evil of the Ynue.
All Mystics have unique forms of magic, and each member of their race is born with a capacity to tap into it.

Corporeal Magic
The corporeal races were created long after the mystics, when Yanu had already passed into his deep slumber. He created them with what little consciousness he had left, and then breathed life into them before going to sleep fully.
Still, they were conceived not all at once, but in groups, and with each iteration, the magic made for them also changed. This is why there are four types of corporeal magic, with some of the six races having their own unique form of magic, and other forms being shared between two races.

Universal Magic
All who are capable of any kind of mana manipulation, whether that be racial magic or a magical ability, will also have access to the universal magics.
Mage's Sense
Anyone with the ability to manipulate mana will eventually develop a sensitivity to the natural background mana of the world, and they will learn to sense minor changes within it in order to detect the casting of magic by others.
Cloaking
Just as a mage will learn to sense magic, they will also learn to hide their own, to be able to cast magic without others tracking their every move, many more experienced mana manipulators will do this unconsciously, but most corporeals don't live long enough to get to that level of familiarity with their abilities.

Dark Magic
The dark magics are types of universal magic, and are therefore available to all who can do magic. They are called dark, not because of their inherrant devious or nefarious natures, but because of the way they are percieved by the people of the world. These perceptions are in turn a result of how their powers have been utilized by mages over the years.

Mana
Yanu's energy, in the way that mages and other magic beings interact with it, is called mana. To consciously utilize this magic for the sake of doing magic in any way is called mana manipulation.
People and creatures also use magic unconsciously all the time, this is because the soul is made of pure mana and uses mana to keep living. Without mana, or without a soul, a body, whether it be that of an elf, human, or beast, would be nothing more than an empty shell, incapable of thought or action.
The mana that people and creatures use is that which naturally accumulates within their souls. This stored mana is called a mana pool. The size of a person's mana pool naturally grows over time, until they reach maturity, which happens at different ages for different races.
Mystics have naturally very large mana pools, which is why they are all capable of magic. For corporeal races, this is not the case, and only a small fraction of their people ever develop mana pools large enough to make them mages.
The rate of mage forming also differs between races, with the elves, the most magical of the corporeals, having the largest percentage of mage-capable citizens.
Once a person has started to become a mage and practices using their mana to create magical spells, their mana pool can grow further, for it is like a muscle, and with training, it becomes bigger, more flexible, and recharges faster.
Magical Phenomenon
These are the natural occurrences of magic, they are also a form of mana manipulation, but not by people. They are either environmental or systems put in place a long time ago by one of the divine beings who created this world.
