Elves

Introduction

The elves are the longest-living of the corporeal races, and they are also the tallest. Because they live so long, they have much less of the human industrious nature and are much more concerned with tending their gardens and constructing grand , magnificent objects of great beauty.

They tend their forests with great care and are known for their pride in hard work and their accomplishments, such as building a giant castle or honing a skill. The elves do everything they do with great care, precision, and patience, for they have much time, and do not rush things.

Appearance

They are similar in build to humans, although taller with longer limbs, and pointy ears. They will nearly always wear their hair long, either with braids, tails, ribbons, or anything else, they consider it a symbol of their greater longevity and grace.
To go along with that theme, they will often wear elegant robes, in combination with elegantly fitting pants and shirts, with long lines and neat embroidery. The wealthier the individual, the more detailed their clothing.

This is less so the case in Enyanin, where more tightly fitting clothing is preferred, especially among the middle and lower classes.

Society

Elven society is universally egalitarian, regardless of the realm or ethnicity. This has caused them to have much experience with female rulers, which has only reinforced this ideal.

Their longer lifespans and greater individual accomplishments have given them an air of superiority. They believe that they are the best of the corporeal races and are not afraid to let the world know.

Living habits

They live more around nature than in it, meaning they will construct buildings and roads to fit in between and around the trees and landscape, only altering what is truly necessary, seeing each location as a unique opportunity for architectural innovation, and constructing unique residences. This has made it a common sight for elven houses to have trees growing through them, or even inside of them, or for houses to be built around a large boulder, and things like that.

Ethnicities

The elves spread for and wide, and have since diverged into a number of distinct ethnic groups. Most notably, they are the ancestors of the Orcs and Goblins, something they would rather the world forget about.
