Celeste

Celeste is not one for physical activity, so she's in relatively poor shape when she shows up at The Arena. She'll lose weight and struggle there and on the road to Willowmoor, and then she'll be in better shape going forward. She has a pear-shaped body with thin legs and toned arms.

Celeste covers the grays in her hair by using red hair dye, so she stands out with her colorful streaks.

Celeste arrived at the arena wearing worn jeans, a baggy sweatshirt, and her oldest pair of Reebok sneakers. She'll eventually acquire new clothes between the arena and Willowmoor.

Celeste was born in the Before Times, so not much is known about her life before the bombs dropped. She worked at an observatory, though no one is sure which one.

Celeste traveled to the arena with her brother, and they ran into their share of ruffians. The most memorable part for Celeste was when she had to stab a guy in the neck to get him to let go of her, thus allowing hers and her brother's escape. Though she never knew if the man actually died or not, she suspects that he did, and she's not sure how to feel about that. Furthermore, anytime she gets warm liquid on her hand, she flashes back to feeling the man's hot blood pouring between her fingers.

Celeste believes in helping those in need, and she believes wrongdoing should be punished.

Like many of the survivors, Celeste is motivated by a desire to return to some form of normal so that she can continue to live her life.

Celeste is a math and science whiz, having always found those topics came naturally to her.

She's no good at cooking, and she's terrible at writing; doing reports was always her least favorite part of her job in the Before Times.

Celeste prefers to be clean, and she's terribly self-conscious if she can't deal with her gray hairs. She'll struggle with everyone else in the arena and on the road; in Willowmoor, she'll find creative ways to turn her gray hair different colors.

Celeste joined the Advisory Council, then when it dissolved, the Caravan Conclave. She'll remain in leadership in Willowmoor, heading up scientific efforts with the likes of Cleo, and becoming locally famous for her weather reporting.

Celeste arrived at the arena with her brother. She'll make friends with others fairly quickly, Cleo most notably.

Her older brother, Bartholomew.

Celeste is an atheist; however, she does believe in aliens (at least, she hopes they're real!).

Celeste could stare at the night sky or chart constellations for hours without getting bored. She also loves reading a good science fiction book, and she used to go to fan conventions for Star Trek back in the day...

She has no pets.
