East Omeni

There is a city on the coast. If you go down the Red Stream of the K'Thoni River and go through the mystical Whiteroot Forest, there is a city nestled on the north coast of the Kimion region. A huge city comprising most of the coast not swallowed by the influence of the City of Lu Pri. A rich old port the lords of this land call East Omeni. A city blessed with tropical weather only slightly dropping in temperature near the winter, never getting cold enough to snow. A city that has been ruled by The Noble Killgold family for well over three thousand years, and even before that, when they were simply the most respected family in the area. A city decorated with rubies pulled from the mine in the whiteroot forest. But before there was a city on that stretch of coast, before civilization truly sprang up around the estuary where the Red River becomes the Bay of Rubies, there was just a little village. A small settlement near the bay on the east bank of the river. And it started with Akmar Killgold. He allowed pirates, outlaws, and sailors from all over the sea to use his harbour before heading southward to the lands of the great empire of Transyl or eastward toward the Province of Haffeer or the Twin Cities. Doing this, he made a fortune, and so did the owners of the inns and restaurants and the merchants selling wares, and eventually a truly staggering amount of currency from all lands made its way to East Omeni. This facilitated its development into the well-renowned town it was when the empire of Transyl began conquering northwards. In a matter of years all the land south of the Whiteroot was subjugated, and all that was left was the little town up north overflowing with gold, a town that just so happened to have a navy and a mercenary army so well paid as to be loyal to a fault. Not to mention a magical forest in between them and any invaders. The great empire never tried. The city of East Omeni was left to grow unimpeded by outside influences. In time, the Classis rose up to remove the Transylian Empire from the region. And they saw the killgolds and their city more as useful allies than as land to be conquered. And so the once-little village became a host unto itself, a formidable force with its own standing army and navy and a stupendous amount of gold. The Killgold's owned properties up and down the Red River. From mansions and forts to farmland and parks they used as hunting grounds. And it was at this point, at the height of their power, that Kidri I Angelis called upon the greatest families of the land and asked that they help him depose the Classi once and forever. After being promised a level of autonomy nearing independence and a place as the highest nobles in the land, the Killgolds were subjects for the very first time since that very first Killgold and his little boatyard, and the city of East Omeni was at least, in name, a part of something greater. Today, the city is as rich as it has ever been. Cut volcanic rocks from Ruins of Oslyna are used for the roads; any and all administrative buildings are made of white-polished marble, and inside these statements of power you'll find opulence; government officials are all dressed in red suede tunics that are trimmed with gold threads. The river runs straight through the city and serves as its water supply. If you walk straight from the city's enormous gates, you will eventually arrive at the same boatyard that first Killgold originally constructed. It is no longer just one little wooden pear. Now in its historic place, you'll find the magnificant Goldwater. 150 individual berths and consuming five square miles of the city including the entire Bay of Rubies. It is through this port that the food of the nation flows. Killgoldi ships bring grain from the north and wine from the south and take precious metals west and rare gems east. This is the backbone of Kimion's economy. Every drop of Transylian Sweetblood wine touches a dock in East Omeni and every single bottle of Semeti White Gin sails up the Red River. All under the protection of men from both Africani and Killgold legions, who worked together under the guides of a treaty between the families was brokered by an Angeli king centuries ago. East of the river up to the Horn of Kuto on the southside of the Kutobo Strait is the administrative half of the city. the so called High Bank area has some of the finest jewelers, seamstresses, craftsmen and shoe makers in the realm within feet of each other and all a stone's throw from some of the most talented killers, armourers and mercenary guilds in Oliviara. Looking down on this all from its place in the dead center of the district is the Red Palace the family's residence within the city and also their local seat of power. You'll also find the Killgold family bank here. Known as the Grand Ruby Bank or GRB, the bank is headquartered in the palace itself though its public branch can be found across the street. The west side of the river is colloquially known as the Low Bank. This is where the people of the city not name Killgold live. They say there are no poor people within the city, the reality is refugees are given a home and assigned work upon arrival and the homeless and incapacitated are cared for by the family as to keep up the appearance of affluence. The Low Bank is a place of wealth and luxury. You'll find the city's schools here and any government building that are related to the function of the Goldwater Port. Up river and into the forest you'll find the Killgolds personal land. The Amber Palace, their true, residence can be found in a clearing on the west side of the river. A few more can be found along the river leading all the way up to the city's gates, acting as both symbols of power and as guard towers for the city. And everywhere you look, from these exterior properties to the city itself you'll find men garbed in Killgold colors with swords made by the family armoury around their waists. This is the domestic legion of the Killgoldi Army, this though is only half of their armed force as they also have the Killgoldi Navy second in manpower only to the Africani forces. The difference though is while the Africanis armies serve both the king and their lords and are still largely a force of conquest whether or not they are actively conquering the Killgold forces serve at the leisure of their lords alone and are a primarily defensive army, being stationed at Sinners fort, a former temple complex on the other side of the river form the Amber Palace. And that is what must be known East Omeni. A city built on hard work and an slight absence of morality, fated since its inception to become a major player in the region, it surpassed the expectations of even its earliest progenitors. So do visit East Omeni. And bring plenty of gold.

Government

The Noble Killgold sets laws for the city as they have for millennia.

The matters of justice within the cities and surrounding villages and towns are dealt with by the Kings' Judge, a representative sent to each city to serve for life by the Crown of the Kingdom

The execution of the laws of the city of East Omeni, as well as the execution of the criminals who break those laws, is the dominion of the armies of the Killgoldi Army.

Infrastructure

THe wetalth of the city can be seen most redily here. uin the grand builindg projects almost all persoanlly funed by the lords of the city. of these structures lik ethe several brigdes crossin teh river and keeping the city connected. some are newer like the barely 100 year old public branch of the Great Ruby bank. The roads are made from stones were harvestd from the ruins of the east and government buildings are repaired as fast as they might get damaged. teh city is pretty not becuase the killgold aspire to beauty but becuase they see themselce

Natural Resources

From the forest, the city pulls the rubies it has become known for. it also has develpoed a very minor agricultural industry on the periphery of the city to the east. the city of eastomeni though is a sea power. their fishing industy is ran by the great old killgolds and all fish caught by the citys government is sold to other cities. and of course nature and gods temselves blessed the city withe the natural harbour of the bay of rubies.
