The Pentoan Empire
Once upon a time, rivers flowed in the desert.
Before the Sumerians built the city of Ur, before the first pharaohs governed Egypt, there were the rulers of Pento. The Asanad dynasty: the first in human history to style themselves "emperors," meaning kings who ruled over other kings.
(The other kings were less than delighted by this innovation.)
