In Midranor only those that seek profit or adventure would ever leave the comfort of settlements. The wilds are filled with beasts and monster both with and without intelligence that constantly roam the landscape seeking food or just fighting for supremacy. Although many have fought to stop the spread of these creatures, they have established themselves throughout the world and even driven away the existence of civilization. This stems from the War for Midranor that cemented the hostility between the races and creatures of Midranor and the Gods of the outer planes. Although tensions have decreased there is a constant vigil against the creatures from beyond preparing for another invasion. For the common people of Midranor they rely upon the Great Guilds that have sworn to protect the world although their interests within Midranor often do not align.
