Leeboar Sea

In the central part of Nicandria lies a quaint sea with ships travelling across it for fishing, trading and safekeeping of the realm. To the south lies long sandy beaches while the north has rugged cliff faces and turbulent waves. A collection of Islands lies in the northern part, surrounded by hostile rocks beneath the surface of the water breaking the bows of ship travelling to close.

Fauna & Flora

The sea hold a great population of fish that thrive with quite few predators other than fishermen from the nearby settlements. In the south are countless of clams that hide in the depth, burrowing into the soft ground while the north has a variety of crabs that hides in the reefs of the islands. The reefs grew upon the bones of wyvern that fell into the sea after a great battle, although not much remain of the bones.

Mutated Griffons

While griffons are normally found close to high cliffs, exhibiting very territorial behaviour and hunting in small packs for food, some sailors claim that they've saw a pack of griffons swoop down onto a entitlement ship and rip the gold detailing off the figurehead of the ship. Their descriptions where a mess contradicting not only each other but also established physiology. The most likely explanation was that the sailors had simply stolen it themselves but the gold was never found.

History

Rothspard's naval graveyard
Leeboar sea was an isolated sea for a long time until a channel was created to the Interyunto Ocean. Some ships travel this path to get to the sea but most ships on the sea were built in its coastline cities. While there have been a few settlement around the sea, the number of larger ports have never exceeded three and for the last several decades only Dewshore and Tradfell remains. As a central part of Nicandria it could be expected that control over the sea had been established but it is instead called a graveyard due to the amount of ships that have been sunk.   While there have been problems ranging from pirate activities, rifts into the elemental planes and various aquatic creatures, some say that the many fallen ships is an intentional plan of House Rothspard in an attempt to create a ghost ships for an undead naval army. Some sailors claim they have seen ships on the horizon that have the translucence of ghosts and others say that cloaked figures regularly rent ships once or twice a year, fill them up with magical supplies before returning a month later with an empty cargo hold.
