The stuff I actually read

Goals for Fabulae

Honestly nothing really to add this year, due to how inconsistent my development of this world has been I'll probably not make any big promises. Hopefully I do get to get some new art out too that I can show around here too, cleaning up articles and make things presentable.

The Articles

Umbracake Syndrome

It's rare to see food articles about foods not actually meant to be eaten, and Daeni's take with umbracake syndrome sounds terrifying. Honestly I should try my hand more on making food not meant to be exactly edible for everyone or anything.

Neurosia

Another banger by Jon, with nice layout and a fun usage of his dreadnaught article. Always a sucker for having creatures have multiple uses for their biological traits, plus their art really helps sell the whole idea in general. Go give it a read!

Neurosia
Material | Jul 23, 2025

"A fear so palpable, so toxicating, that it corrodes both the bottle and the mind."

Sea Scamp

Sometimes the best types of creatures aren't the killing machines, but really just nasty sea birds. Sea Scamps by Polina "Line" Arteev proves that quite well by being just a fun fantasy bird stealing people's food and having no fear in their heart. Great article for a bastard.

Dreadnoughts

Meanwhile the opposite is also true, sometimes just having a murder bug is great, and Jon's takes on the classic Umberhulks prove this. Terrifying things, great tips how to hunt and use them, wouldn't recommend fighting one.

Massive insectoid beasts that weaponize fear itself

Black Stone

A short, sweet article about a prison island, not much to really say, but definitely recommend a read.

Lightman is totally an alien

I don't follow a lot of superhero worlds but I do like the idea of people believing secret identities that aren't even true. A fun exploration in how people may believe a story even if it's not true.

Phoenix Vine

Another good article of Jon, always a sucker for elemental species and Phoenix vine is no different. Love the lifecycle of it and practical usage too, alongside the same beautiful art.

Phoenix Vine
Species | Jul 3, 2025

An extremely versatile, fast growing, and resilient plant known for its miraculous ability to disperse heat.

Spontaneous phantomization

Sometimes it's just fun trying to explore how fantastical phenomenon work, and spontaneous phantomization by Ephraïm Boateng does just that. A great exploration in an issue of becoming ghost during a full moon.

Real Points Network

Not every article needs to be complex, something about a magic barrier is enough to get me hooked if there's a bit of a mystery. Catoblepon does this well with the RPN, with a well-made layout with me now being curious to know more about this mysterious magic lake.

Real Points Network
Technology / Science | Aug 1, 2025

A magic-based technology created to mitigate the chaos effects of magic, acting like a shell surrounding the mana-dense area and lowering the amount of mana crossing it. It has side effects, though they are not considered dangerous enough to be important.

YOOOOO THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS!!!

While I would love to go on an adventure, writing them is enough for me.

Congratulation for this Summer Camp and I hope I'll see some cool updates about your art this year ;)
