Cyrancia
Cyrancia is the South-Eastern region of Daeamorant, bordered by Iacalos and Lucanis, and controlled by Domusanc Benedalo.
The region has considerable variance in elevation, with the majority of settlements existing at the top of plateaus found throughout the region. Cyrancia is the closest region to the base of the Divine Spire and the mountains that accompany it, which causes the parts of the region closest to these mountains to be at a noticeably higher elevation. The capital city of Cyrancia, Carioch, is atop one of the highest plateaus nearest to the Divine Spire, elevated enough that there is a road carved into the side of the plateau that spirals up to Carioch.
In parts of Cyrancia, the plateaus are near enough to each other that they effectively create "canyons" above sea-level, and the main roads between these plateaus are connected by large stone bridges. Because of this, despite Cyrancia not being especially large geographically, only being larger than Akenlos in size, it seems larger than it is whilst travelling through it. Larger settlements exist almost exclusively atop the plateaus, but smaller towns and villages can be found in the false canyons between the plateaus, especially where the main roads begin to lead up to higher elevations as caravans travelling those roads would naturally need stopping points along their trip.
Rainfall in the region collects in lakes atop the plateaus, with the largest of these being where some of the larger settlements have been established throughout Cyrancia's history. Some of these lakes have small rivers that run over the edges of the their plateaus, creating rivers that run between the plateaus and, in some cases, powering water wheels in the towns beneath the plateau.
The landscape of Cyrancia makes finding large swaths of farmland somewhat difficult, which is why on the South-Western edges of the region bordering Iacalos you'll find that most of the territory is used for growing crops. Up above on the plateaus, livestock can be raised, with goats being particularly common due to the varying elevation. Cyrancia can sustain itself on the yields of the region, but still benefits greatly from the yearly surplus delivered from Iacalos.
Cyrancia is generally considered the most pious region in the country, with a fervent worship of Alleniel, the Goddess of Law being the primary focus, but temples abound throughout the region to Torach, the God of Retribution and Thaemenar, the God of Life as well. The most impressive temples are dedicated to Alleniel and found in settlements atop the plateaus, but as one gets closer to Iacalos, temples to Thaemenar become more common, and the same is true for Torach as you get closer to Iacalos. Alleniel is credited as the deity whose teachings brought order to Daeamorant, and as such, Domusanc Benedalo prides itself on its reputation for members of the Domusanc choosing to join the Church of Daeamorant, as well as their study of the Perfect Rule. As with all regions of Daeamorant, before owning a business or land in the region one must serve 2-4 years in the infrastructure important to the region. In Cyrancia, this is primarily through either time spent serving in a temple, or in the judicial system. Moreso than any other region, Cyrancians pride themselves on their knowledge of the inner workings of their society, viewing their participation and understanding of the infrastructure and events of their region as being a form of worship toward the Goddess of Law. While you might expect this to develop into some kind of superiority complex, it's not as prevalent as you'd think. While Domusanc Benedalo historically has little respect for Domusanc Extonas as they view the ideological differences in Othera as being quite simply wrong, Cyrancians and Benedalo generally get along quite well with the other regions. Bendalo respects the consistency of Domusanc Veritalos, and Cyrancians as a whole view the difference in cultural norms seen in Iacalos and Lucanis as being simply their position on how to best worship Thaemenar and Torach. Among the regions, Cyrancia has the closest ties diplomatically to Iacalos and Lucanis, due to both a mutual respect of religious focus and simple geographical proximity. This was not always the case however, and in the ancient history of Daeamorant, Cyrancia and Lucanis would find themselves in conflict rather frequently, which has turned into a mutual effort to foster a relationship in times since. Technically, the Divine Spire and Intellectus Divinus are not a part of any region, but if they were, it would be Cyrancia. Because of this, as well as the region's particular reverence for Alleniel, Cyrancians pride themselves on their ties to the church. The majority of religious advisors appointed by the Church throughout the country hail originally from Cyrancia, and the current Pontiff was originally Cyrancian before forsaking their ties to any region. Because of these reasons, the primary export of Cyrancia in loose terms could be considered "advisors". Due to the study of laws across all regions of Daeamorant being a primary focus from a young age, those raised in Cyrancia, particularly of pious lineages, are actually sought after as advisors, arbitrators, or temple leaders in other regions. Othera tends to not do so as much, owing to the strained relations between the two regions on matters of culture, but elsewhere a general respect for Cyrancians with regard to matters of religion, philosophy, and law is held throughout the country.
