Lucanis
Lucanis is Eastern Daeamorant, bordered by Cyrancia and Othera, and the region controlled by Domusanc Drusurys. It also, importantly, shares a border with Southern Kalava'khir.
Lucanis is largely flatland, though the areas in South Lucanis experience more changes in elevation as it approaches Cyranica. Perhaps more importantly, the Easternmost edges of Lucanis that border Kalava'khir become progressively more barren until eventually reaching the sandy dunes of Kalava'khir, separated by a large canyon at the border with a bridge connecting the two countries, referred to in Daeamorant as the "Swordscar Chasm".
Domusanc Drusurys controls the region, and is the most militaristic faction in the country, and the geographical features of Lucanis are largely the reason for this. First, Lucanis shares the largest border with Kalava'khir, and furthermore is directly between Kalava'khir and the Divine Spire. That being the case, Lucanis has historically been the primary battleground in past wars between the Mageocracy of Kalava'khir and the Arcane-shunning religious country of Daeamorant, and so Domusanc Drusurys has always been the most prepared for war. The generally flat terrain of Lucanis is also the reason for why Domusanc Drusurys commands a large host of mounted knights, the largest cavalry force in the country.
Lucanis is also the home of The Order of the Divine Blade, an ancient religious organization devoted to Torach, the God of Retribution. It is believed that Domusanc Drusurys has its origins in this Order, which is viewed with a high degree of respect. The Order of the Divine Blade carries substantial weight as an icon of religious and historical significance to the country as a whole, with many believing the Order to have produced some of the greatest Paladins of Torach in history.
These factors explain a few things about the population of Lucanis. The region is home to the only Dwarven city in Daeamorant, Dhakal-kor, though the Dwarves there embrace the culture of Lucanis moreso than what might be considered "traditionally" Dwarven. A strange occurrence, as much like Elves, Dwarves tend to be fiercely adherent to tradition and custom. Most likely, this is because the culture of Daeamorans in Lucanis already overlaps with many Dwarven beliefs, including the special reverence for Torach, the patron god of the Dwarves.
Lucanis also is home to the majority of Dragonborn in Daeamorant, though clans of Dragonborn are also found in the major cities of Cyrancia. The primary reason for this is that Lucanis in particular blends a combination of things important to Dragonborn culturally: The military-focused subculture emphasizes honor, order, and pride, and furthermore presents the opportunity to gain glory and prestige and showcase one's skills. While Cyrancia is generally the most reverent of Alleniel , the patron deity of Dragonborn, that does not necessarily mean that all Dragonborn value the same things, and so Lucanis is home to most of the established Dragonborn Clans in Daeamorant. Interestingly, since the disappearance of Dracallyn in Moragh, this makes Lucanis possibly the largest population of Dragonborn among the three countries, though it is still a low population relative to other races. Some members of Domusanc Drusurys are Dragonborn as well, including their current Oratician.
Lucanis suffers from having significant areas that are not viable farmland, nor otherwise producing natural resources. Little can be done with the dense mountains on the Western edge of Lucanis near the Divine Spire, and as you get closer to the Kalava'khir border the land turns barren and unsuitable for growing crops. Because of this, Lucanis owes a substantial portion of its sustainability to the cooperation of other Domusancs, needing to import significant amounts of food each year, primarily from Iacalos. In exchange, Lucanis exports the results of metalworking, as well as horses and perhaps most importantly, skilled warriors. However, it has been some time since Domusanc Drusurys has been called to take up arms, and so the Domusanc has had less weight to throw around at the bartering table in recent years. Because of this, many adventuring parties found in Daeamorant originate from Lucanis, seeking to use their skills elsewhere for coin as joining a military affords little opportunity in times of prolonged peace. This supply of warriors willing to take up arms against threats for coin, thanks to unsurprisingly strict regulation through the laws of Daeamorant, means that to an extent Domusanc Drusurys can be credited for "adventurers" as an "export". This not only allows other regions to rely on capable warriors to hunt local monsters and threats, but maintains the reminder to other regions that it's important to keep Lucanis sustained in times of hardship such as this.
Perhaps the most noteworthy feature of the geography of Lucanis is the Swordscar Chasm. Beginning in North Lucanis at the southernmost point of the Trisea, Swordscar Chasm is a deep canyon that runs along much of the Eastern side of Lucanis. At the northern tip of the chasm is the Falls of Divergence, a waterfall that is responsible for creating this ravine that stretches for miles. Near the bottom of the Falls of Divergence, built into the cliffs, is the oldest temple of the Order of the Divine Blade. A testament to how long the Order has existed in Daeamorant, it is actually necessary to climb down the Chasm to begin the path and then up again somewhat to reach the temple, indicating that, most likely, the flowing water has carved deeper into the land over time after the temple was built.
People in Lucanis predominantly worship Torach, though that is not to say Alleniel or Thaemenar fall by the wayside. Of the three, Thaemenar receives the least worship, but that is largely due to the region of Lucanis itself being a less preferred region to locate to than Iacalos if the devout find themselves drawn to the God of Nature. The Order of the Divine Blade is also a significant reason for this preference for Torach, as it has existed since before Domusanc Drusurys controlled the region and is an order devoted specifically to the worship of Torach. Lucanis is on the higher end in terms of population size. In terms of native Daeamorans, Lucanis has the second highest population count of the regions after Iacalos, but the number of immigrants in Othera causes the region to overtake Lucanis as the second largest population overall. Citizens of Lucanis are expected to serve minimum 2-4 years in the government (from which Dwarves of Dhakal-kor are exempt) if they wish to own a business or land in the region. The practice of requiring participation in the infrastructure of a region before being permitted to own property is standard throughout Daeamorant, but in Lucanis it is generally expected that these years be spent in military service, as it is the backbone of Lucanis culture. Another option should one not choose to join the military would be to become a registered adventurer of Lucanis through Domusanc Drusurys, before travelling abroad to prove your worth assisting other regions. The latter of these options is only available to those who were born in Lucanis or have parents that were both born in the region. An individual may enter the service of a Knight of Lucanis as a squire as a final option, though generally this is only done by those who wish to become Knights themselves. Largely, this possibility exists as a fallback for those who enter the service of a knight who passes before the squire completes their service, and is heavily frowned upon as an option pursued purely for the purposes of becoming a merchant.
