The Fate Stones of
Magicians' End are eight gemstones from different parts of the world (and even a different world in two cases) with long and storied individual histories. Their collective importance only became apparent during the short age known as the
Limit Protectorate when
Prince Rygarde made them the object of his malign arcane interests.
