Zamol Garner

"There are killers, and then there are monsters. Sometimes, the difference between them is simply that one found something greater than himself to feed his hungers."
— House Helicon investigative report (redacted)

Early Life and Military Aspirations

Zamol Garner was born in obscurity and quickly became a problem to those around him. From a young age, he displayed a violent temper, impulsive cruelty, and a near-total lack of empathy for others. He sought validation through institutions of violence, and as soon as he came of age, he attempted to enlist in the Astro-Landing Force Marines.

Though physically capable, Zamol proved temperamentally unsuited to the Pinnacle, the ALF’s infamous crucible of endurance and discipline. His lack of patience, obsession with control, and sadistic streak brought him into constant conflict with trainers and fellow recruits alike. When offered an honorable out, he took it, abandoning the path of the Dropper Dogs for the uncertain life of a drifter.

A Career of Blood and Disgrace

Garner’s restlessness led him to Celestial Securities, where his talents for violence might have been shaped into corporate service. Instead, within days of his employment he murdered his own supervisor in a fit of pique. Fleeing arrest, he drifted through a succession of warzones, mercenary companies, and outlaw enclaves, rarely lasting long before his compulsions resurfaced.

His most notorious period before Ixion came with the Grand Army of Venus. Immersed in drugs, cheap thrills, and easy companionship, he briefly appeared to stabilize—until he discovered the thrill of recreational killing. Garner became a sniper not for combat necessity but for personal pleasure. His victims were civilians, fellow soldiers, and bystanders, taken at random to feed his craving for surprise and power.

Venus, accustomed to tracking sufferers of Venutian-Psychic Dementia, was baffled by the scope of the killings. Only the arrival of House Helicon investigators brought the truth close enough to force Garner’s hand. A brush with a Psychovector nearly exposed him fully, and in the chaos of his attempted murder of one of the investigators, he fled off-world.

Arrival on Ixion

Garner drifted among the countless dwarf planets and border settlements, always leaving violence in his wake. Eventually, he found Ixion—a frontier world already scarred by anarchic excess and Redspace contamination. To Garner, it was a paradise, a place where his compulsions required no disguise and opportunities for slaughter were endless.

It was here that Loor’Ayjeh noticed him. The Redspace Adversarial Intelligence recognized a kindred hunger and a pliable vessel. Garner, already hollowed by compulsion, offered little resistance to the slow corrosion of his psyche. The connection between man and RAI deepened quickly until Garner was fully hollowed out and reshaped into a Perfect Vessel.

The Symbiosis with Loor’Ayjeh

In most cases, the hollowing of a human mind leaves only a husk in service to the RAI. Garner’s case is more unusual: what remained of his psyche welcomed the arrangement. His obsession with killing aligned seamlessly with Loor’Ayjeh’s predatory designs, producing a fusion of human compulsion and alien hunger.

This arrangement made Zamol Garner more than a thrall—he became a living extension of Loor’Ayjeh’s will. Unlike other Vessels, his remaining personality traits complement rather than resist the RAI. Garner relishes his role as hunter and butcher, while Loor’Ayjeh guides his appetites into productive cruelty. Their symbiosis is seamless, unnervingly so, and Ixion has suffered the consequences.

Role in the Flowers For Ixion

As one of the three leaders of the Flowers For Ixion, Zamol occupies the role of executioner and warlord. Where Eliza Kytel operates through charm and manipulation, and Bigman Gor commands mobs of degenerates, Zamol is the blade. His snipers and hunters operate in green cloaks across Ixion’s wastelands, spreading terror with precision kills and seemingly random acts of slaughter.

In private, Zamol is the terrifying reality behind the FFI’s threats. He takes personal joy in ambushes, ritualistic killings, and staged atrocities designed not only to destroy lives but to corrode hope. Within the organization, his authority derives not from charisma or popularity but from fear and respect for his efficiency as a killer.

Current Status

Zamol Garner continues to serve as Loor’Ayjeh’s Perfect Vessel, a figure of nightmare on Ixion’s landscape. His greencloaked bands of marksmen provide shock value in coordinated operations, often in league with Eliza’s schemes and Bigman Gor’s brute raids.

To those who oppose the Flowers For Ixion, Garner represents the most direct and personal threat—a killer who could emerge from any shadow, whose rifle could fire from any rooftop or canyon rim, whose predation is as much about the joy of the act as it is about the strategy of the war. He is, in the eyes of many Ixionites, proof that some men are beyond saving, especially when fused with something never meant to wear human flesh.

Combat Style

Zamol prefers to break morale before breaking bodies. He stages assassinations, arranges corpses in grotesque displays, and strikes where enemies feel safest. In direct action, he relies on stealth and precision firepower, often using the distinctive FFI purple-trailing railguns. If forced into melee, he fights with brutal efficiency, wielding knives or jury-rigged weapons with clinical accuracy.
