Calacabri
Calacabri was an immensely powerful wizard dwelling in the city of Yetseyuuna in Balendyra.
Though technically a necromancer, he was never very fond of the term. He believed it had far too negative connotations. He oft called himself a "necromagicker" or a "vitamancer" though neither caught on. In his early career, he worked as an arcane healer and saved many lives. As he grew older, he discovered ways to extend his life far beyond that of a regular Human's. His fascination with the magical workings of life force grew over the course of the following 300 years as he slowly grew more and more reclusive from the world.
His expertise over life and death soon drew the attention of the blood god, Vidal, who saw his skill and research as a means to his horrid ends. Capturing the necromagicker, Vidal used his knowledge to create the most feared item in all of the cosmos, The Mortal Ring.
After this incident, Calacabri destroyed all of his notes and memories on the subject so that no such device could ever be created again. This later proved to bite him in the ass, as he was presented the Ring many years later in order to destroy it. Not having any notes on its creation, its destruction became a tiresome affair, taking over one thousand years of effort.
Lichdom
After his more acceptable methods of life extension grew tattered and worn, Calacabri turned his attention toward studying Liches and their methods of immortality. Then an unequaled master of life and death, he performed the only known perfect Ritual of Lichdom, becoming the only Lich to ever fully retain their personality, sanity, and memories. He did still, of course, turn into a bare skeleton, but he always "made the most of it" in his words. Additionally, he forged a Ninium heart to serve as his phylactery, which he kept within his ribcage once he began to skellify. He reportedly said it "felt safer this way."
