Personal history
Maldrek was part of the group of heros that stopped a once First-Born general from being released into the material plane from his Vulnum prison. During the fight his fiancée sacrificed herself to keep more of the Contagum from being released and her remains were cast into the deepest layers of Vulnum. In a last resort to beat the Fallen, that had gotten through, the party used a gate scroll and physically pushed him through along with themselves. Maldrek's twin sister Mellisan and their Elven Druid Party Member Eldan Glitterwood were the only ones to make it back from Vulnum. After that he spent the next 100 years in the depths of Vulnum to try to find and revive his fiancée to no avail. Which drove him to becoming a lich to try to help this never happen again and to find long forgotten magic to bring her back.
