William Samuel Meriweather (a.k.a. Will)
Born to a Thyrian family that lived among Idiots, William Meriweather, brother of
Lincoln Meriweather, always had a soft spot in his heart for the ordinary in the world. After enlisting in the
Undying Protectors at age 14 and fighting in the Shadow's War, William Meriweather secured himself a front row seat for the conflict to come. Though the Undying Protectors split over the ethical question of what to do with the Lords of Death, and Will sided with his brother's contingent, who wanted to kill the Lords mercilessly, he still kept his morals and values strong. Meriweather was there for the end of the Shadow's War at the Battle of Tenebris Lux, where his twin brother, Linc, perished at the hands of the Lords or Death, and where
Brandon Valeski and
Erin Donovan's contingent of Undying Protectors slew the last Lords of Death, avenging his twin's death. After the war, despite an offer from
Nolan Winter to join his new corporation as an ethical advisor, William and his wife,
Eliza Meriweather, settled down in Anaheim, CA, adopted Brandon and Erin's son,
Joe Valeski after their untimely disappearances, and was father to his own chid,
Jax Meriweather, up until his adopted son's 13th birthday, when he and his wife were attacked by a Lord of Betrayal and sacrificed their lives to allow the Edwards and Joe escape.

History
After Brandon Valeski and Erin Donovan disappeared a mere six years after the end of the Shadow's War, Mr. Meriweather adopted his good friend's now orphaned son and took him in as his own. Over the course of Joe's 13 years, much of the way he sees the world has been affected and shaped by Mr. Meriweather's teachings, and the relationship is one without which neither of them can function.
Nicknames & Petnames
Even though Brandon and Erin named their son "Johnathan", Mr. and Mrs. Meriweather disliked this name and thus took to calling their adopted son "Joe", which is the reason why Joe is called that today don't @ me
Legal Status
Joe is legally Mr. Meriweather's ward (I believe that's the right word).

History
As father of Jax Meriweather, Will Meriweather plays an important part in Jax's life, guiding him and trying to get him to follow the model set for him by Jax's older brother, Joe Valeski . Though Will believes Jax to be a little bit less mature and developed than Joe was at his age, he still loves Jax just as much, and Jax loves Mr. Meriweather just as much back.
