Ratharid House
The Ratharid House is a large dynastic body within The Martellite Empire. Consisting of many smaller dynasties such as the Leonfleur Dynasty, it is a massive entity spanning much of the Empire.
The Ratharids were founded by Rathar the Azure after he overthrew the rulers of one of The Original Duchies and rendered its rule to Martin Eleanor.
Due to the sheer size of the Ratharid House, there is few unifying factors among its cadet branches. Rivalries and alliances are common among the dynasties, some even spanning over hundreds of years. The main branch can hardly exert it's influence over all the other families, but when it can, the effects are far reaching and irrevocable. There has not been a particularly powerful head of the family since Rathar's great-grandson, Roderik Ratharid. The current head is an elderly, infirm man named Andre Ratharid, whose authority is currently being used by his grandson to enforce harsh laws within Helenus.
