Karsten

Karsten is the Arcturian god of the wilds and the moon. Karsten and his followers serve as guardians of nature, and more importantly look over travelers who must go long distances, even over night. To this end, several orders of clerics and monks dedicate themselves to Karsten. They beseech their god for blessings in protecting innocents from the denizens of the night, often receiving them in the form of a controlled lycanthropy. A public facing organization providing safe harbor and a path to said control is the Lupus Dei, a joint holy order of the followers of Karsten and Galneryus.

Myths

Many theorize that some orders of Karsten have been taken on the task of hunting down cursed nobles, specifically vampires. If these orders exist, they are extremely secretive, as if they were found out, they could be tried for treason. The first lycanthrope to serve Karsten did so initially in the hopes that he could have his form cured. Instead of curing him, Karsten gave the man a chance to redeem himself as a defender of the wilds, and learned how to bestow the same form onto others.
