Galneryus (Gal-near-ee-us)

Galneryus is the Arcturian god who represents the aspects of war above mindless bloodshed. He is the promotion of strategic thought and tactics, of casus belli and organized levies. He oversees duels and other such fights to the death, where the victor is determined only by strength of arms. Galneryus' clerics often invoke the domains of war and order, as Galneryus has a vested interest in ensuring war is not a barbaric bloodbath. The war's resolutions must be upheld, and any agreement between warriors is viewed as sacred to followers of Galneryus.

Myths and Legends

In the early days before Martellia's unification, an ancient principality was under attack by raiders from another land. The invading force had greater numbers, and the war was originally going very poorly. The Prince held a prayer to Galneryus for guidance, and received the first gift of strategy beyond simple battlefield brawls.
