The Ashguard Federation
Outstretching from the invincible fortress of Ashguard Garrison sprang the village, and soon to be metropolis, of Tycheron. At the behest of the land's vassal-Governor, Duergothoth, the people of Tycheron began missions to bring together the people of the Asmark region under one unified banner. The principles of self-governance are the foundation of this federation of city-states after finally doffing the chains of enslavement.
Structure
Each city in Ashguard is independent in its operations; though the leader of each is the Lawgrave. All the Lawgraves report each season to the Regent about developments made in their respective incorporation.
Culture
Originally founded around Ashguard Garrison, a fortress & military force designed to repel the forces of the Ashlands to the south, the people are battle-hardened and willing to stand up for themselves and fight. Most of the population has some direct link, whether personally or familiarly, to the mining trade. The Denizens are in a word - resilient.
Public Agenda
Before the Dragon Wars: The public agenda of Ashguard and it's settlements is to bring up wealth and power to their Governor, Duergothoth - and by extension, Tiamat.
However, most of the citizens of the Kingdom know in their hearts a rebellion against these tyrants is stirring. They only wait till they are powerful enough themselves to overthrow their masters, and lead themselves into a bright future away from any self-imposed rulership.
After the Dragon Wars: Now that independence from the Draconic Governors has been established, Ashguard and its Lawgraves seek only for the prosperity of their people and the defending of what they have won.

Assets
The Black marble mined out of the Asmark mountain range is sought after by many, and is their largest export. The mine is abundant with gold veins, which Duergothoth and her children have the Denizens form in images expressive of Ashguard & of worship to the Chromatic Queen.
History
In 515 YD, Duergothoth erects Ashguard Garrison to oppose the encroaching Ashlands from the South. In 535 YD, the mining town of Tycheron incorporates the Garrison within its borders. In 575 YD, the Federation of Ashguard is established. In 846 YD, the Vassal-Governor, Duergothoth, is deposed and slain: securing Ashguard's Independence.

Religion
The chief religion after the deposing of the Cult of the Dragon is the worship of the Lawbearer. The Temple of Tiamat was thrown down and rebuilt in the image of Erathis. Many, if not most, of the Dwarves of Ashguard have begun worshiping the All-Hammer. Outside of Tycheron, many of the City-States of Ashguard have begun worshipping the Dawnfather. Though with the added presence of currently relocated Wild Elves and Forest Giants from the Elsir Vale, worship of the Wildmother has increased several times over what it had been before independence.
Tycheron being Her Chosen City, the Lawbearer is the most worshipped God in Ashguard. But thanks to the ceaseless efforts of Regent Voldren, places of worship of every Greater God (excluding Tiamat) have been erected. The Regent sees the establishment of religious freedom as paramount to the success of independence. The Dawnfather, All-Hammer and the Platinum Dragon are the next largest recipients of worship in Ashguard. But all the Gods, except Tiamat, have specified places of religious observance within the nation; the right to worship whichever God one wishes is established in Ashguard, and the people are joyful and prosperous as a result.

Legislative Body
The House of the Regents (sometimes called the Hall), in partnership with the Regent, draft laws and ensure their enforcement. Members of the House are selected by the Regent.
Judicial Body
The Soren is the high judge; their first priority is defending the laws of the Ebon Regius, and then enforcing the laws crafted by the Regent and House of Regents. To help them in these tasks the Soren appoints members to the Court of Statutes, a group of lesser judges that carry out the usual demands of a law official. When the Soren dies or steps down from office, the Court of Statutes appoints one of their own to the position of Soren.
Executive Body
The Regent is the Chief Executive Officer of Ashguard. His first priority is serving as Tycheron's Lawgrave. The Regent has no power over the legislation of the other cities and villages of Ashguard. The Lawgraves of those incorporations report to the Regent every season and inform them of important information regarding the town. The Regent is in charge of legislation and chooses the members of the House of Regents to help him in that purpose.
The Regent is voted on by organized vote among the people every 5 years on the 29th of Goa. On the 30th, the ballots are counted. And on the 1st of Einmanord, the Regent is appointed.
