Niruim of Merthiorn
Princess Niruim of Merthiorn
As one of the many powerful people to succumb to the rust in 3014 E.Alz, Niruin is remembered as a bright and profoundly curious woman that managed to turn an entire Kingdom into a hub of knowledge and scientific development.
She was covered in silky and soft black fur with a white patch on the chin and had rounded ears and dark eyes.
She was full-bodied, with plantigrade feet and a soft, long tail.
Though the royal family tended to use comfier and simpler clothes in other colours during their regular off-duty activities, Niruim argued that always being in her royal colours gave her both a higher presence and made things easier when important matters surged unexpectedly, as well as combining well with her black fur.
From an early age, she loved learning about all kinds of topics and would show displeasure whenever a detail that she sought was unknown or not found in the grand library. Niruim married a folk called Flame and had 2 children with them, Nimo (2974 E.Alz) and Pella (2978 E.Alz), both male, of which Nimo died at 12 of an unidentified disease, and Pella succumbed to the High Rust at 36.
Niruim and Flame stayed together until Flame's death in 3007 E.Alz at 67 years old.
She used her position to greatly increase the kingdom's spend in the sciences and academics and went on to found The Knowledgeholders, an organization dedicated to acquiring, documenting and securing knowledge of history, culture and the sciences of all kind, employing hundreds of field researchers, scribes, historians, facilitators among others.
As a demonstration of its royal origins and importance, Knowledgeholders wear black with gold accents, the pattern used for Merthiornite monarchist regalia. The organization became the pride of the Kingdom of Merthiorn and expanded into keeping the information in the form of books, manuscripts, sheet music, recountings, field notes, or any other form of recording, from any topic deemed worthy of preserving.
Since the founding of the Knowledgeholders, Niruim insisted to Onnamar about the importance of locating an imposing, spacious library in the royal city to keep the Kingdom's wealth of knowledge secure in its stronghold. Onnamar complied with her daughter's wishes by ordering the construction of what became The Majestic Library of Goldwaste, one of the most beautiful buildings in the new city.
Her death to the rust occurred shortly before that of her siblings, her son Pella and all other surviving members of the Merthiornite Royal Family save for Virgilim, his nephew that was then acting as the Honourable Prince of Red Crest. The Knowledgeholders mourned her death greatly, and erected an statue in her memory on the new building for the Majestic Library that they built in her birthplace of Spire.

Stupid Rust, killing people I like. >:( She sounds like she was an awesome lady. I'm glad at least that she didn't have to witness her second child's death.
