He got a charter to establish a settlement from two nearby noble Houses, House Aglaron and House Karne. He has partnered with these two families for generations.
It took about a decade to fully establish the settlement. Novum called on a longtime friend, the Dwarf Kragnel Goldflayer to act as Harbormaster, to manage and develop the docks. Once the docks were built and word got out concerning the jobs in the Blood Iron mine, the settlement grew fairly quickly.
Architecture
Most of the settlements utilize wood but stone is fairly common, especially the leftover stone taken from the Blood Iron mine is used to make a reddish concrete. This concrete is used in some of the home construction.
