Shadow of the Aboleth Master Plot Variant

Over a thousand years ago, an Aboleth that once dwelt in the seas long ago where the town of Port Redcliffe is now located. Somehow it was mostly destroyed, led by a group of beneolvent powers and their mortal vassals. An aspect of it endured and made into an essence shard and was placed in a vault in a fortress nearby who the leader of the mortals Erland Aglaron, whose family has maintained the vault below their estate. The cult attempted to bring back the Aboleth 10 years ago and failed. Ishino a young man in the cult survived and has been plotting since. He was granted psionic powersthat connects him to the Aboleth's mind or essence. In the background there is the Plane of Shadow or Umbral Realm that the cult opened 10 years ago as part of the ritual, and small rifts has spilled into the Material Plane causing living shadows and other creatures to come from there to the mortal realm.   Ishino was a member of a handful of teenagers that would cause mischief and get into trouble. They did cliff diving off the red cliffs near the town. Ishino was the one that discovered an underwater opening that led to a grotto. Inside was a arcane study that was made by Sea Elves long ago that had been abandoned.    Ishino came across the Eye of the Deep that touched him and gave him psionic abilities. He kept this secret but showed the others the hidden grotto. They would each find items of power, that granted or unlocked abilities within all of them.    Ishino eventually gave the Eye of the Deep to Imra, the leader of the Aboleth cult. When the cult arrived in town to perform the ritual, the other teens decided to stand up against the cult. A dragon named Anbraxas joined them and acted as their mentor. The youth fought the cult, including Ishino, though he was still undercover.    When Imra was slain, Anbraxas took the Eye of the Deep to the Shadow Realm where it could not easily be reached. The youth that fought against the cult were: Andrys Karne, Scalanis Aglaron, Ishino Watomi, Karazi, Aryssa Mossflower, and Miku Watomi (Ishino's younger sister). Unknown to most, shadows and madness began to take root in the noble dragon and corrupted the guardian as the years passed on, no matter the resliance the dragonic protector had.   Ishino kept hidden in Port Redcliffe prepared to perform to ritual again in 10 years, as the ritual requires a certain lunar eclipse when a comet passes by occuring every decade. He gathered information and began rebuilding the cult. He was slain in the Shadewood as part of the search for Andrys Karne by a creature of shadow in the ruins of Karsa. IShino was buried in town by his sister Miku. However a druid was among the ranks of the cult came to the graveyard casting Reincarnate on Ishino. He came back alive but changed into a male Taivalin (Aasimar). This allowed Ishino to act much more openly as he was not watched as one of the heroes of Redcliffe. He changed his name to Lorian, and assumed the role of an herbalist that sold potions and gathered plants in the Shadewood.   The time of the comet is nearly here, and Ishino is finalizing his plans. The ritual requires the timing of the comet and eclipse, but he must also obtain the Eye of the Deep guarded by Anbraxas in the Umbral Realm. Then there is also the Aboleth's Essence Shard in the Aglaron vault. The time for subtlety is over and the time for action has come. Only the PCs, new arrivals in Port Redcliffe stand a chance against Ishino and his plan to restore the Aboleth to its former power and the shadow that is sweeping across the land.
