A classic campground straight out of Ark writings, Camp Clear Lake is an idyllic summer camp with remarkably preserved cabins surrounding a beautiful shimmering lake, nestled among an ancient pine forest.

Purpose / Function

The intent, based on ancient but well-preserved documents found on site, is to be a getaway to nature for children too long removed from it, watched over by adults who provide enriching activities.

Alterations

The sign leading into Camp Clear Lake has been seemingly changed multiple times, sometimes proclaiming its less well known and sinister nickname, Camp Blood, as a warning.

Architecture

Singlestory log cabins with sloped roofs covered in pine needles, with simple glass pane windows. The floors are rustic wood and worn smooth by the generations of youngsters that have passed through the camp. An outdoor amphitheater of simple wooden benches surrounds a giant fire pit. A waterworn dock house at the edge of the lake is full of wooden canoes, paddles, and life vests.

Defenses

The only defenses are the remoteness of the location, with only a single dirt road leading through the ancient wood.

History

The Camp seems destined to be rediscovered and reused by those who are ignorant or heedless of its violent past. The location seems preternaturally resistant to the ravages of time and nature, never fully being overgrown by the forest and locked in the perfect example of what a summer camp from the Ark writings can describe. Unfortunately, when used for its intended purpose, the horrors present in the lake emerge. The Lady in the Lake and the Clear Lake Killer both call the Clear Lake their territory, and brutally kill any camp counselors present, leaving the children completely unharmed, for reasons that have not been discovered yet. Little is known of either, just that they never appear at the same time. The Lady has a featureless face and tends to kill by drowning her victims. The Clear Lake Killer is a hulking brute that uses weapons appropriate to the setting of a summer camp (machetes, bow and arrows, oars) or just his raw strength to kill and maim. Both are tied to the lake, inexorably.

Tourism

The allure of the camp calls to those who wish for an escape from Olympia to nature.
