Kolichev Empire
The horse-lords of the Kolichev Empire swept down from the northern steppe of Gutrope in 2080 IE, conquering and dominating the agrarian population of the Heartlands. It was upon the backs of these peasants that they built their empire, which lasted thousands of years.
They dominated in political and economic spheres, and their emperors grew fat and lazy. The empire began to fray at the edges, weakened by corruption and extravagance. Raiders encroached on the borders, looting and pillaging villages.
But then came Tatiana, the hungry-eyed empress who had the fire of her ancestors burning in her heart. She rooted out corruption and instilled fear in traitors and heretics. She organized the military and banished raiders from her lands. And then she set her sights on the outer world, which they had long since been separated by Elkin's Pride.
