Demon Wastes

Victory gates and monuments. Ash and rubble. Pools of ichor and rippling portals. The alabaster ruins of a fallen kingdom, sinking ever-deeper into the mud. These are all scenes from the Demon Wastes. This wasteland was once the heartland of the Kolichev Empire, but it fell into ruin due to their prideful arrogance.

Geography

The Heartlands were a place of rolling hills, grasslands, and meandering streams and rivers that ran from the mountains to the sea. Villages and towns were connected by cobbled roads, punctuated with monuments and statues of emperors past. The capital city of Dmiskava, named after Emperor Dmiska Kolichev III, sat at the mouth of the Zhrava River, rich and prosperous from trade. Today, the Zhrava runs black with ichor. Settlements have been reduced to rubble, and pastures have become battlefields. There is no trade, no society, no civilized life. The only life in this wasteland is the bloodthirsty remnants of the Flood-- devils, demons, and celestials wandering the cracked plains looking for violence.
